Ther were some people who were having issues similiar to this, and it turned out to be a roll pin I believe, that needed replacing. If I'm wrong someone let me know.

Don't want to sound like the dealer here but there may not be anything wrong. I've had lots of cars that gave a little grind when I went into reverse. Maybe just a half second, not a long grind. It's just because you are reversing some of the parts in the tranny.
I've never had problems with cars that ground a little every time.

Sometimes it seems to help if you tap the gas in neutral before pushing in the clutch and pulling the shifter back. Gets the gears more in sync.

If it grinds for a while and doesn't want to go in you do have a problem. But if it just makes a little noise as it slides in you are probably ok.

Take it back to the dealer since it's still under warranty.

Has anything to do with the clutch and flywheel being after market. Just guessing at this point. I know with the B&M short throw you have to be careful how tight you screw the knob on. If its to tight reverse will grind or not work at all.

Mine does this too on my F35. If I put the car in 1st then straight to R it works fine.

I found a couple of sites that state that reverse is synchronized meaning it shouldn't grind when putting it in gear. I would take it in for warranty work and let Chevy deal with it.

well took it in and the dealer told me that its going to grind...its normal...said the reverse gears arent syncroed so the gears dont mesh perfectly causing it to grnd a slight bit...said its not doing and real damage to the trans because the gear teeth are sliding off of each other causing a slight grinding noise....he said thats mostly likely what the problem is and if it gets alot worse then i should have brought back for more extensive work
