Did I get SCREWED??

This morning I took my car to a local Chevy dealership so they can fix my AC. (it was leaking and squeeking). I took some springs that I bought from an owner of a SS/SC. I asked the service guy to give me an eestimate on how much the installiation would be and he called me at about 11:30 and said that it would be $541.20 because they have to install the springs and then fix the alignment. I thought that was a load of **** so I told him not to install the springs. where else can i take my car to have the springs put on?

yes it would. still sounds a little expensive just to swap springs and do an alignment, but its the dealer too.

With my last car I took it to a local Shop and it only cost me $200.00 to put the springs on.
Then went to Mavis for an alignment which was another $65.00. in total $265.00

Yeah your getting ripped off.

In my driveway on jackstands with a rented spring comperssor from Autozone and it only took me and hour and a half to do the springs. With a lift it should be even quicker. Ide call that a rip off. But I like to do everything I can myself so I know it was done right.

No you didn't get screwed, you would have gotten screwed if you actually paid that much. But in that case, you would have been screwed based on your own stupidity. So no, you did not get screwed, you did the smart thing and said "hells no, I'll go somewhere else."
