exhaust leak or knock ?

2006 2.2 N/A
I've been hearing a ticking noise coming from the front of the car, possibly the engine, probably an early part of my ZZP exhaust. How can i narrow down what/where this issue is, so i can get rid of this awful noise.

The ticking speeds up as the car accelerates, and even tends to change tone or note when car shifts. Ticking is there from start up. Can't see an obvious header crack-maybe gasket or loose clamp idk.

My midlength to dp is out of warranty too so if that’s the case what are my options.
I’m not even going to entertain the idea that it’s a lifter, I’m not ready to go down that road yet

Thanks

More tjan likely an exhaust leak. Do a leak test. It includes essentially.blowing smoke into the exhaust pipe and seeing where it comes out of
