I meant make them give you what they would sell it for. There's no reason for them to be making money off of the deal. By what youre saying that would give you 3000ish for a downpayment on the next one...then if they have something you like...make them give you one hell of a deal on it...like what they paid for it.

Once again I will say what I said to begin with, IF they give the car back you better believe that won't happen until it has a new ECM, BCM, the harness has been checked and they might even replace your cluster.

Realism would tell you at this point they look at it this way. GM Lawyer trumps GM engineer every time. They will keep the car where it will be diagnosed then scrapped. You will be offered payoff and if you push the matter your down payment credit towards another GM vehicle. Anyways, good luck no matter the outcome. And don't let this sway you elsewhere, every manufacturer has problems, 25,000 parts, 99.9 percent made right...some just won't be. Automobile is the most complicated engineering wonder most people deal with every day.

lets hope

however, a new guy on the g5 forum stated that his car threw a code saying FUEL RAN BRAKE just the other day. He says he has photo proof but his iPhone wont let him upload it :S I'm not sure if it is bullshit or the truth. If it is, perhaps there is something going on.. g5 conspiracy :P

It would make sense the computer is confusing FUEL RANGE LOW with PARKING BRAKE...which should never fricken happen.

BTW if you get any dealerships saying that they cant give you a rental/loaner car say that you want a manager and state that you want a refund of the money you are paying for the service of getting a loaner/rental.

Works evertime, trust me 21 and have had issues getting a rental every time

BUMP

So GM calls me no less than 5 minutes ago to tell me that the GM dealership owner will be calling me within the hour.

I can only wonder what that means... bye bye GT?

Update!

Spoke with an owner of GM, and they will be keeping the car for another week. They have installed cameras all around the car, ie. inside, engine bay, etc. Also installed sensors everywhere. They will keep the car for another week, driving it, trying to re-create what happened.

On a funny side, GM has been monitoring the G5 club site, as well as css.net. So when they called me, they were all confused about my car, saying I brought them the wrong car. This being said, they assumed since my username is PontiacG5GtTurbocharged, it was actually turbod. Thought that was an lol moment.

thanks guys,

ill keep you posted

matt

Good luck with it man! I hope I have the same luck in getting the car repaired with my damn oil filter leak. I guess this is the test of GM backing their products up. If they have both of our backs in these repairs, then it's safe to say that my new car (truck, actually) that I am buying when I graduate next year will definitely be another GM.

Ok ok, so they are likely following THIS topic right now. I have a question and feel free to answer without an answer. Did you ever figure out what the hell was wrong with my truck? I know you know which one I'm talking about, the one that started on fire when you tried to give it back to me, the one where I got a hand written letter of apology about over a year later that wasn't hand written...thanks btw, cuz I wasted a couple grand of my own money for your mistakes and it really tanked my credit without your promptness about closing my loan out. You want to change as a company, hire me, I'll fire all your dead weight in a few months and steer the ship in the right direction for a change.

Wow, it's cool to know they they are trying so hard to determine the problem with your car and not just give you another one or something or a deal on another one. I actually can't wait to hear what they say on it, this is probably the strangest thing I've ever heard of with one of these cars. Now maybe they'll float on over to the SS/TC rear brake sticky...

/one sentence thread jack.

When you're on the phone with the GM head honchos, can you mention my oil filter housing issue I have been struggling to get repaired? (I made a thread on it).

lol

GM is still working on my car
they are taking it incredibly seriously, and I highly appreciate that, as well as their services to me, ie.: keeping me updated by letting me know where my car is and what is going on.

aside from this, there is no new update on the car, hopefully I get her back sometime this week. stay posted!

*sorry for the delay, been rather busy*

They'd be smart to trade you a new car so they can keep the strangeness to themselves...if they ever figure out what the problem is, they won't have to tell anyone...lol...
