Funny Idea
I've been throwing a random misfire code for a while (p0300) and I can't seem to figure out what it is. I was just thinking though that a few months before the p0300 code was found, I had installed filled tranny mounts. I don't know exactly when my car started to throw this code because I just assumed that the usual codes were being thrown (p0171 and p0420) so I didn't bother to check for a while.
I've heard that some SS's were showing knock with solid tranny mounts, but can bad knock throw a misfire code, or are the sensors not related in any way? IDK but I'm just trying to figure this out.

knock is picked up by the knock sensor and the pcm will pull timing. missfire codes are set when the pcm picks up a miss, using the crank and cam sesnors to detect it.
would be best to have a scan tool with a data stream hooked to ist so you can watch the missfires and see wich cylender its happening on.

I was having the same problem a while back where the check engine light would come on and then when i read the code it said misfire. Since the light stayed on i took it to the dealer and they blamed it on the CAI!! lol Then they tried to sell me back the stock one for 300 bucks. Then recently the light came back on but then it went away after a day so i just left it

That was my other thought. The CAI has been throwing a lean code for a couple of years now.
But it was only about 9 months ago that the misfire code kept popping up.
I guess my car is just stupid. It can't adjust for a little more air?
