codyss: Thanks for info. I bet a strong wind would catch the door and rip that sucker right off the mount and flip the door around 180 degrees. I ain't impressed with the construction or QC on this thing. I really regret buying a Cobalt.

Anyone take this thing off before or watch it done?

Do you have to take the door apart? Or will it flip and slide out the hole?

What a mess. I had my my Cav Z24 for almost 10 years with almost no stupid probs. I am REALLY hoping to be able to do the same with this but at this point with all weird QC problems....I am not so sure.

Mine is doing it too. My moms Jeep Cherokee had a broken brace piece and the dealer wanted $150 for labor to fix it. I bought the part for under $20 and replaced the thing my self. Had to take the door panel off and insert it through the door. I took less than 1/2 an hour.

I've got the same s**t. It looks GHETTO! But I'm afraid of just ripping it off the car.

I think it would have been ok if GM wouldn't have made the doors open so far, I mean seriously who the hell needs the door to open that far?

If you need a door that opens that far to get you fat ass in your going to have a serious problem with steering wheel location.
