Do have more specific info on those pumps as well as someone who has done this mod?

The ford pump is the exact same Bosch pump as the OEM one.

They are cheap as **** inside, I stripped my second one down when it failed, brushes were completely worn out. They just will not last.

Hammer fix only jolts the brushes so they make contact with the armature for a bit. Its a good way to make sure that the pump is dead, if you have to hammer it, its worn out inside.

20-30K miles and they die. Just part of life with these cars.

exactly... over 300 bucks cheaper! i couldnt believe it when i had to replace my pump, such a huge price difference. i had my doubts the the pump i ordered from ford performance parts would be the same pump untill i had it in my hands. as far as i know i was one of the first to have a pump go out though... but i was also one of the 04 owners with the pump wired backwards.

i just knocked on mine with a hammer today too, because I frequently have to fill the I/C res... appearantly I haven't had a functional intercooler pump for a while now, because I'm finally seeing orange fluid instead of the yellow universal our store uses...
