Paint...how bad is bad?
Paint...how bad is bad?
I've read tons of posts on here about how everyone's paint sucks and I know a few people have even managed to get their cars repainted. Yesterday was the first time I got out this year to handwash my car. It's been freezing here for the past cpl weeks and before that I was still stuck at school with no way to hand wash it. I've been running it through the touchless car wash regularly throughout the winter. I have at least 10 little paint dings on my hood. I don't think they're from salt or chips or the road or anything like that because 1) I was at school so I did very little driving in the bad weather and 2) there are no chips on my bumpers or the sides of my car - just the hood. Is this just my paint crapping out on me or is there something I'm missing? This is my first new car so I don't really know what to expect. I know they'll all get dings eventually, but it's been less than a year, is that normal? I just don't want my car to start peeling and look like a total piece of crap as soon as the warranty runs out or something.
The paint on the hood is ludacrisly thin.
It chips off easy under the smallest hit from a stone.
I have a feeling it will be the first place to rust on our cars when they start to rust that is.
