Severe Misfires

Hey, I really hope someone can help me fix this, because, it has been going on now for about a 3 days now and is starting to worry me. By the way, it is a 2006 SS Supercharged. Mods are in my signature.

What is happening is the engine is misfiring extemely bad. My Interceptor gauge shows misfire numbers up in the 30s pretty often, and a pretty much constant 4-6 misfires. When I look at all the cylinders, it is happening in random ones, at least according to the gauge.
Ex. Time 1-- Time 2
Cyl #1 - 12-----2
Cyl #2 - 2 ------4
Cyl #3 - 0 -----32
Cyl #4 - 4 ------6

It seems to be in no particular order and continues like that. Sometimes it will be Cylinder 2, sometimes 3. It gets so bad sometimes that I can not even make the car start to roll or accelerate if it is already running. It happens slightly more after shifts and at lower RPMs (1500-2200).

In this video you can hear the car popping out the back, and if you listen closely (it is much more distinct in person) you can hear what sounds like air pockets shotting out the back.

In these videos, you can hear (more so in the beginnning) the exhaust popping and the engine hesitanting and misfiring bad. Sorry about the not so great quality, but, it is good enough to get the point.

Please, if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. And, I have already checked one of my plugs, and it appears good (they are only 6,000 miles old). By the way, I have an AEM Dryflow filter, Flowmaster Exhaust, and the rest of the mods are in my signature. Thanks for the help,
Joey

misfiring is caused by a lot of things injectors, spark plugs, coils, and also the cat. It looks like you don't have a cat i would say try replacing the spark plugs if not replacing the injectors, its a trail and error posses because misfire can be produced by a lot of things but these are the most common.

I actually do have a cat, but, I did push it once, and it boosted a normal 15-16 lbs, which made me rule out the cat thing. I also had already checked out the plugs, and they still looked good. Do you think the injectors would be bad after only about 6,000 miles?

Mine has the little popping noise every 5-10 seconds, but nothing like that man.....I would say it has to be the injectors.....Check the injector o-rings.

Can a tune really mess it up that bad, especially after so long?

Darn, I had heard that, but thought I was in the clear after all these miles.

In an Update:
My car actually shut off while I was begining to leave a drive through, and would not start back up. After a while, it stopped turning over and a loud whistle was coming from the starter. It was towed to the dealership and sat there overnight. When I went there at 7:30 this morning, the told me my starter was bad. So I guess they are going to fix problem 1 of 2 now. Hopefully it gets better, otherwise I may be looking at that new Escape Hybrid.

Haha, in my old honda, the starter worked without the clutch, so I could literally use it as a hybrid, crank the engine and feather the clutch

how is it not replaceable. lol. it's on top of your valve cover. Takes all of 5 min to replace it.

but usually when your ignition module goes out, your car will tend to cut off on you when it gets hot. I doubt this is your problem. But feel free to look into it. You can actually take it off and take it to autozone to have them test it.

Ohh.. Okay.. I didnt know those were the igntion modules. What would actually go wrong with them. My car is at the dealership now because the starter also went out last night...

So, they replaced the starter, and it turns over, but the engine will not actually start. But "because of aftermarket tuning", they say that they will not service the car any further, and they wont let me work on it over there behind there shop. I want to try to change out the plugs and see if that does anything, but if that does not work, I will have to go to a real shop and figure it out.

Do you have the stage 2 pulley? If so I would say throw it back on go to another dealership and have the GM stage 2 reflash done and see what happens. Just a thought if it is the tune causing this.

No. I went from stock to the Intense stage 3, I was actually thinking of that. The servce manager over there is pretty cool though, he comes into the restuarunt my dad owns all the time, so he knows me and started looking at my car with one of his guys. So.. For now I am good, but, we will see how long that continues.

Do a compression test first, it wouldn't surprise me if you blew the motor. After that I would check injectors, spark then fuel pressure. If you haven't found anything by then you will need to get diagnostic run on it and probably take it to a shop.

I'm getting random misfires myself lately. But I think my plugs are shot from my car's lack of fuel control under boost (turbo). Working on it tomorrow, it's doing the same as your, but nearly as bad.

Okay, so... They replaced the starter, but, I can not figure out why it is missfiring...

After being able to work on it a little.. I found out some things that it is not
Spark Plugs (replaced with new ones)
Intake (took of fender well, check, even tryed to wiggle, it is still on there good)
Injectors (took off the fuel lines right before the rail, the rail itself, and pulled out the injectors)...

Things I am going to test...
Cat, in case it is clogged and wont let exhaust through (which would explain the lack of misfire with higher RPMs... I will just unbolt it and see how it runs.)
Ignition Modules
Compression test, which I believe they did, but, I completly forgot to ask when he told me it was just fouled out plugs (which was not the case), so I will find out tommorow.
EGR Valve... It may be new, but... You never know...
And, now I will also have them look at the crank and cam sensor.

I wish it would just throw a code, then I would have some idea at least. I will keep you guys updated. Thanks for all the help too.
