How long was the tensioner bad? Sometimes if the tensioner is left failed too long, the timing chain stretches and starts causing issues from the timing being off.

It didn't rattle all the time, it might rattle for 30 seconds and then not again for 2 days. The first time I had it looked at it wouldn't rattle for them so it was like nothing was wrong. One day two weeks later it wouldn't shut up so I drove it to the dealership and haven't seen it since. That was three weeks ago. Luckily they gave me a rental.

But those tend to be a hit of a miss I have a 05, and have had no issues, mechanically or cosmetic.

But the cat's are biggest problem. But there's is an extended warranty on them, so it if goes bad, dealership will replace it. And theres a power steering recall. But that same thing with that.
what is the extended warranty on the cats mine is messed up now and i need a new one. i would prefer to do it myself but if its a waranty thing then i wont care

My 05 has 80,000 miles on it, had the TVS on it for a year and been running E85 for about 7 months. Still on stock everything, 25lbs of boost, and running like a champ.

100,000 miles I'm pretty sure. Can't remember how many years, but it's long. Chances are you're still under warranty. Look in your owner's manual under emission systems warranty.

I'm at 80k and they would not touch mine, but I just got a whole new DP so it's all good. On a side note, I'm at 80.5k with my SS/SC and I've only had to replace a boost gauge and the DP. Other than that it runs like a dream! Go for it, I got mine sight unseen and had never driven one and I love it!

Thanks for the help guys! Everything checked out and I'm now the proud owner of a SS/SC!!! I'm already planning on doing a few things to the car, starting with the minor issues first. First mechanical/maintainance is to replace one of the pulley's on the supercharger assembly, do a coolant flush, and replace the brake pads on the rear wheels. First cosmetic repairs are to replace entire dome light assembly and to do a shorty antenna.

Here are a few boring pics for you guys haha.

headgaskets go in lsj's? new to me unless your running a 100 shot with a 2.6 pulley and no cooling mods with a stock tune. you need to tell your mechanic that if the blower goes then EATON should stop making superchargers and go out of business. his word against Eaton... you tell me. good buy thouse black G85's with gun-metal is sex

so the extended warranty is for any 07 model not just certain ones?
i have an ls 07 the guy told me that when i bought it i would have to buy it extra. and at the time i was assuming all 07 models came with 10 100,00 mile warranty but he said it didn't. o well. is there a way to make sure or do i just need to take it to the dealer and have them look at it?
