wot pull then died....

hi i just got an 06 cobalt ss/sc and decided to do a wot pull 1st gear (wheel hopped bad) then the car just died and wouldnt start for about 5min (would crank but thats it) then it started shows a cel but runs fine. now (idk if its always been there) but i hear a noise kinda like ticking sounds like its coming from the supercharger...its not as loud as the videos of bad timing tensioners i found on youtube nor does it seem to be coming from the same place....i also have a weird aroma idk if its clutch or brakes (brakes are bad). oh and a one time recently i floored it and it wouldnt rev past 3k or so then it would just randomly work again...any ideas?????

So you are beating on a car that you already know has issues? Smart.

Scan the codes. Report back. Fix your brakes. Stop beating on a car you know has issues that you know nothing about.

sounds like it needs an owner mod. Don't beat on a car that you suspect anything already wrong with it.

Is the ticking just the slight tick of the injectors?

And ur tb may be on its way out as far as the 3k rev thing goes

lol just got the car 2 days ago had 0 problems have floored it a total of 5 times or so (just bought it so of course i wanted to have some fun) cel is now gone and im almost positive the smell is my brake caliper hanging up because the car pulls to the left while driving (tires pressure is fine lol) so we shall see. im going to clean the throttle body and see what that does as well

Sounds like half the people "helping" this guy are just fucken dicks. He said he just bought the damn thing and has floored it only a few times. And noticed some issues. Give the guy a break and help.

The problem is that the OP is flooring and beating on his car that he knows has bad brakes and a stuck caliper....

Because flooring it with bad brakes will obviously kill the engine.... obviously.

When you buy a brand new (used) car and you think you notice a provlem, but your not sure what it is. Obvioisly you are going to test and try to re-creat it to narrow it down. Not everyone that buys a new car can tell, oh THAT clicking sound is a lifter and not a timing chain, or a wheel bearing to a stuck caliper.

Cels dont tell you everything, and a fresh new car is.. Wel just that

All vehicles act different snd he went from a 22 year old ford to a newer chevy s/c

No, because flooring it, reving it out, and beating on a car with bad brakes is just a straight retarded and bad move.

Who gives a **** if it's a bad move or not. He's the one that has to deal with the consequences.

You reset the ECU unplugging battery

They ask you to unplug the negative so you dont shock your dumb ass installing it

The "bearing" sound you were hearing was probably the ******* supercharger once you put the intake on

garret...no the noise isnt from installing the CAI, and i thought unplugging the negative battery reset the ecu and it would recognize the new air flow coming in and adjust to it. if thats not the case then my bad but the bearing noise is clearly not normal. oh well

Yes the recommend unplugging because it keeps you from screwing up the MAF sensor. You don't require an ECU reset with an intake. The car will adjust.
