Most likely there was bird droppings on your paint, that had been there long enough to etch the paint. Now the length it was on the paint can determine how much damage was done.

Bird droppings are acidic, and leaving it on the paint, it will start to seem into the clear coat, and subsequently, the colour coat. Now depending on how deep it has etched, it may be able to be removed by buffing it out.

Also, take much care in the removal of bird droppings on your paint. Bird droppings usually contain sharp particles that when wiped off the paint, can leave deep scratches. Use a baking soda/water solution to hydrate the droppings (and neutralize the acidity of said droppings) then gently, using a microfibre towel or similar, dab the dropping bit by bit, trying to minimize any swiping or left to right movements, to remove it from the paint. Your trying to basically blot the dropping off the paint, instead of wiping it off.

Bird droppings might seem innocent enough, but they are probably one of the most dangerous assaults your paint can endure, because of both the sharp elements in the droppings, and the acidity of it also.

But I would look into having it buffed and see if that might help. Good luck.
