Post ATT: people running the Rebel Kit

I'm having trouble figuring out how the injector harness gets installed. There are numbers labeling each connector, do I install it with the 1-3-4-2 combination (which is the firing order) or just a 1-2-3-4 one.?

And did anyone have a CEL when the kit was installed?

Thanks.

I don't know what kit your talking about but the injector order really shouldn't matter. Just to be on the safe side I would install them on the cyl number it says. What kit are you talking about?

The kit in question is the Rebel Stage 1 from Rebel Auto Worxs (they are a supporting vendor of this site) They have their operations based in Hamilton, Ont

And that is why I have been told by you and one other person, I just want to be sure. I've already switched them once already. Do you that that would that cause a CEL?

See what the cel is and we can go from there. I don't know what all is included in the stage 1 kit but injectors should NOT cause a cel. What else is included in there kit? Also what made you choose rebel over ottp? Just the fact that there located in canada?

I personally have no idea what you have there, but its is my opinion that rebel sell junque other than their intake. which seems quite nice ...i have tried to help a customer who bought the RAW s/c upgrade for a 2.2 its a crime what they did. I dont care if they are a supporting vendor the work was just terrible and the car dont run right and its impossible to get it right without starting over...RAW + JBP = Fail. You asked for help: My advice? start over...

I also hate rebel but I hate a lot of companies who produce pure garbage and then sell it. Let me know what else is in the kit and I will let you know what might be tripping the cel, if the injectors are installed correctly and are properly working they shouldn't produce a cel.

Install the harness numbers according to the cylinder numbers, not the firing order. They made it simple man.

The kit includes;
-2.8 pulley
-60# flow matched injectors
-injector wiring harness
-PCM flash

This site did have a group buy on this kit back in 06/07 where 10 people bought in for a discounted price. I saw good reviews.

I can't read my PCM because I think Rebel put a "HP Tuners tunerlock" on it. I think this because a friend of mine with an OBD 2 reader plugged it into my car and its didn't power up. I still have not recieved a response from rebel to my many e-mail concering these issues

I do hear alot of good things about this kit, I decided to go with them mainly because I'am Canadian, and I wanted to keep my money in Canada. and secondly, I feel that OTT has some issues that I'm not going to get into here. Don't get me wrong, I like Josh and his business, but I think he has some supplier issues that make things unperdicatble. BTW, my OTT HE works and looks great.

It sounds like your cig ltr fuse is blown. It is a 15amp fuse in the black box under the hood. This will cause you to not be able to use your OBD-2 port. That tune is unlocked because I have it and have used it as a base for several vehicles I have personally tuned. It's actually a pretty good tune.

Thanks man, I had no idea about the cig lighter thing, I'll take a look at that today.

Thanks

So Rebel finally e-mailed me, and he has no clue on how to install the harness either. Hopefully he gets back to me becasue I asked him to get in touch with his supplier about the install.

1-2-3-4- left to right when looking at motor.

Pretty sure all the aftermarket harness's are all numbered the same way.

I just installed the harness with the 1-2-3-4 combination and reset the PCM like rebel said (disconnected the battery for 30 min, I left it for an hour)

Still have the CEL, must be something else.

Turns out that the fuse was blown, thanks again for the tip man. I'll try the reader again hopefully tomorrow.

So we got the reader to work and had a few codes pop up. Maybe you guys can help with them.

- P0300 Random misfire (probably when I was running the harness the wrong way, they are not coming up anymore)

- P0315 Crankshaft Position (CKP) System Variation Not Learned (I'm not sure about this one but alldata says the crank will re-learn it position after 5 warm up sequences) This happens on start up and keeps poping up

- P0172 DTC P0172 Fuel Trim System Rich, This just looks like Rebel tuned the mixture up to rich, its an easy fix and I'm not to worried.

And help would be good

So its been almost 3 days since I e-mailed Rebel about my problems with no reply. Looks like this guy is trying to run from his problems rather then fix them. Looks like I'm going to have to get another tuner to fix his **** ups.

BUYER BEWARE!!! REBEL AUTO WORXS IS A HACK!!!

I know all about Rebels problems, I had some myself.

You probably need a case learn done on your car, you ned a tech 2, or HP Tuners to do that.

Lots of cars pop the 0300, check your plug gap, and conditions of your plugs.

Get the case learn taken care of first, and then look at the other problems.

You will receive better help if you call them rather than emailing them. They don't have a huge shop or a lot of people working there, so calling is your best bet.
