Yeah i know right lol i figured since I got rear-ended the motor had to go in something rear wheel drive it was either going to be a Miata or 240 it had to be something light and rear wheel drive I did a lot of research and couldn't find anybody that's done this swap yet so I figured what the hell I'll do it every time you look up 240 SS it comes up a ls swapped 240 and those are a dime a dozen my 240SS will be one of a kind...well i guess until it catches on and others do it but im not going to lye its been alot alot of fab work to make it work so far lol

In for updates, thinking about doing something similar for our 240 but I don't want to use the turbo application. That oil pan is the only thing that scares me. I can't weld so fabricating that would not be easy. Do you mind letting me know the measurement between the back of your oil pan and where your sump starts? That would let me know if I at least have the option of ponying up for the miata pan.

If you're still in the Denver area and plan on this please send me a PM I'll gladly lend a hand and can help with getting the tuning dialed in. But you should def use a turbo unless you're planning on a TVS1320 on a LE5

Not sure how I'm just seeing this thread. Awesome to see more of these being swapped into RWD applications.

Droptoppaul the sump starts 12" from the back of the block and the sump is 10.5" so the oil pan is 22.5 long overall sump is 3.5" x 10.5" x 14" can hold 8qt no problem it also has trap doors to hold the oil near the pick up. Hope that helps but i agree with the guys if your going to do something like this u might want to make it worth it and boost it one way or another i vote turbo tho lol and fyi its alot of fab work and im only half way thru it

Eh...I do endurance racing. Boost is kind of the devil for endurance. Just end up fighting heat the whole time. I'd use it in WRL or Chump car where the goal is purely to finish.

For the record, the Miata pan will clear easily. The Miata pan is 15" from the rear of the pan so we'd have 3" of clearance over the 240 subframe apparently. Quite intriguing! I may have to start this project!

The miata pan should work no problem i would have went that route but i didnt want to pony up 700bucks for something i could make. You should do it and start a thread if u do decide to do it

Since the Nissan p/s pump uses a V belt and the ecotec uses serpentine, what's your plan for making power steering work?
