Paul I still haven't gotten with everyone to see about the new GM forum. Give me a few months and I will pursue BamaClubGM myself.

ok, Josh, but just so you know... i'm still against you getting a sex change and running off to San Francisco....I know that gays are openly accepted in the military now, but no need for you to celebrate that sh*t, lol

Dunno, I have 2 buddies in Starkville at Mississippi state both making over 600 whp one with a procharger and one with cam / nitrous setup on the stock m6 transmission just fine. I have a friend from gulfport who has a 600 + hp set up with the automatic running in the low 10's on the stock automatic with a stall kit....... Maybe these transmission problems are on some models dunno, but only thing I have seen break on these cars or the other few friends I have with coyotes are drive shafts because they are a POS two piece design but 800 dollars fixes that problem real quick.

But like I said , you get what you want because it is your money and your car not anyone elses.

Faulty Chinese-built transmissions plague new Ford Mustang

Good God Ford.

The next time someone complains about a Swedish transmission, just remember atleast its not Chinese

And I reiterate going all out for an engine while forgetting about everything else

Ok not going to go to indepth because I do not want this to seem like a camaro vs mustang debate which I will not take part in because I could care less about both.

But when I was looking at getting a new car last year I did stay on both sites because if I would have went v8 I would have gotten one of these two. And as the mustang tranny thing even on mustang forums this article popped up and as said before it was shortly after a huge m3 vs mustang debate which the owner of the article go figure owns a bmw.... Some mustangs have tranny problems , some don't. There are hundreds if not more modded mustangs on stock tranny over 500 whp or more without issues beside drive shaft which I addressed in my last post.

Now on moderncamaro it is the same as with the mustang, you have 100's of high hp cars with basically stock transmissions (besides the shitty clutch that the m6 has) with no problems, and then there are others who just keep having problems even stock. Just check out there drivetrain section. As with any car you have the problems it is the same with the cobalts.

Like I said get which car makes you happy because it is your choice and everyone has different opinions. Hope you get one that makes you happy and do some light mods on it and come spank us fellow members at some meets soon :P.

Oh the 5.0 is miles ahead of the 3V GTs don’t get me wrong, I just always thought it was hysterical when people were all up in arms when the Coyotes ran 11s with bolt-ons like it was something new. And the car that did it(Evolution Performance) leaked that the car had modded suspension and weight reduction, which the f-bodies and GTOs also had. But people were seeming to think that with $1000 in bolt-ons they were going to run 11s.

I'm not one to argue either but will just say this:

SBC powered Mustang: pretty common

SBF powered Camaro: almost none existent

YouTube - ‪2010 Camaro L99 Stock and Tuned‬‏

that is why I am leaning toward the L99... stock for stock? Ls3>L99...

mod for mod... bye-bye manual

will be done working in Huntsville after tomorrow and then will have the rest of the week off.... then I am getting sent to another job Monday, its a pretty long drive(though i'm going to car pool with someone and split the driving), but its 4/10s and over a years worth of work... so money flow will stay solid for a while... there is the potential for some overtime though, which I am welcoming with open arms... trying to save up about $3k for a nice down payment, thinking about just buying a new SS instead of buying used, can get better financing anyway and get exactly what I want... putting $3,000 down, it'll still be financed around what it would have been used, except i'll have a FULL warranty and a lower interest rate because of it being a newer car...

if it was something I wasn't planning on keeping, I wouldn't even consider buying new, but Mustangs, Camaros, etc... 5 years later they still have their cool factor, i'd still rock a 4th gen f-body or a '01-'02 N/A Cobra(of course a '03+ Cobra, but who wouldn't?)

my brother and I ran a 5.0 in the TA about 3 hours ago, lol... we didn't really know if the car would run us or not(older guy)... when the light goes green the guy takes off with no warning and so he had a good 3/4-1 car length on us when my brother hit it... and with me in the car.... 4-5 car lengths by the time we let out:

stall, tuned, small cam LS1>Coyote.... it was a mugging and no bottles were used

oh yeah the irony of it all is the race took place in front of the state trooper's office, lol... but it was a quick little sprint and the trooper station is off the road a bit

what would you guys say if I said if I ran across a deal on a LNF I would get back in one?

went through my camera today and got the last of the Cobalt pictures out of it... I miss that damn car

but I promise you this, if I do... larger turbo or bust

I don't know if I found a deal on another SRTC, white, or black... I could make things happen, all i'm sayin'

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/comp...-ss-tc-256157/

that is how serious I am about this, I promise you it'll be on... my claim to fame was fastest Cobalt in Bama, if I get another, i'm keeping that damn claim

the Camaro is more refined, I got time to grow up later... its fun pissing off Mustangs in these cars

Hard to beat price per performance ratio, plus gas mileage to boot.

On a different note the ZZP adjustable clutch rod will not fit a HHR SS on the end that goes to the clutch pedal, the other half of the rod to the clutch cylinder and clutch cylinder are the same though.

The Cobalt SS/TC has some kind of funky clip on the clutch pedal end the ball goes into, on the HHR SS ours clips around a metal piece coming off the pedal on the side (like most cars). And the clutch rod is inserted deep into that piece, no ball socket on that end that goes to the clutch pedal.

But I'm going to be modifying my stock piece that goes to the clutch pedal and using half the adjustable rod to go into my stock piece that goes to the clutch pedal.

I figure an F drill and 5/16-18 tap will take care of threading it into my piece, since the ZZP rod thread is a 5/16-18 thread.

I will be doing it tommorow, already took some pictures to show other HHR SS owners how to make and extended clutch rod using the stock piece, it will add about 2 inches of length using the ZZP adjustable rod piece I'm using.

It can also be made adjustable via a nut if someone wanted to go that route.

Damn the **** I come up with, first a 1.5 Mirage Distributor that will work in a DSM 4G63 turbo cylinder head and now this.
