There have been a couple posts on the DSLSJA thread, but mostly about offtopic stuff.
I have talked to a couple other members and told them to post up if they can come.
I'm still at my 10+ threshold, so if we can get 10, than its on, but if not....


I don't understand the problem tho. I set this up like over a month in advance, and utilized lots of input to set the location, so why is it that we can only get 6-7 people to go? Was I right about the lameness factor of NC? Plz prove me wrong!

maybe people think their car has to be fixed up or an ss/sc to go.. but that's not true.. all stock cobalts, or g5's should attend. every damn cobalt in the area should be there!

Yea, I gotta say this is pretty bad, plenty of notice and time and only 7 or 8. Oh well, does not matter, that is the way NC is, liking pulling teeth to set anything up. All talk, no action. hehe.

Just as an FYI - I am one of 3 or 4 that already had plans beforehand and would have been able to make this if the date was different. Yes there was months of planning involved but schedules are schedules and not everyone can make it. 7 or 8 is still a good number though.

I'm done with it. I just wanted to point out to watch your comments that yea only 7 or 8 may show but look at the number that have showed interest in it they just have other plans scheduled. If that is your way of motivation than wow you have a lot to learn on that. You don't criticize people to motivate them. If I wasn't following this thread, I think you were an ass for saying that.

Granted, it is difficult to get people together. The DSLSJA group has tried numerous times to get people to head out to the Rock when they head out there since it is a more central location to the ones in Raleigh but of course some will show, others will not. So what, we still have fun, meet new people there and enjoy our time. The same should be said for this. So what you only have 7 people. Think of the ones that you will pass on the way out there or run into that don't know the site. Besides why not put names to faces instead of sitting behind a screen all day and only get to know people that way. Thats my opinion.

I'll say it again as I've said before, I would be there if I didn't have plans since the end of june for that weekend.

 

This what I was wondering cause the way its going I just may not go. I am very stressed because of personal issues and work(having Bi-Polar does not help at all either) so I'd like to know whats gonna happen, are we doing the cook-out thing(if so we need to figure out what we are doing and such on that end) or we going racing or something. I got fri-sunday off and I could sure use that time to just relax and bring down the stress and blood pressure lol.

 

We need to type up a final list of names that can attend for sure.. I'll start.

What time were you guys thinking? And as for activities, i'm down for whatever. At first I figured cookout, but since the group is smaller than I anticipated, a restaurant is doable also..

Seems like 12pm is a reasonable time to meet yes? I figure we meet at the welcome center at that time. On like page 7, i posted the parks website w/map as a link, so directions should be easy to get with that info.

I just called the park, it is 2 bucks per car to get in. They have grills and picnic tables to use for free. I can bring a bunch of beer and some food, but if anyone wants to pitch in with the supplies, it would be a great help.

But all that plan on attending, please keep the list going so we know who to count on..

 

Ok, I am in. Wanting to know if anyone wants to meet around charlotte and cruise up aswell so let me know. I well see about bringing some burgers(patties) and buns, can do beverages too, need to know what everyone likes(like pepsi or coke and such), I can get beer but chose not too since I am not a drinker lol.

 

guys i wont be going I had been talking to travis offline. It looks like come friday i will have an attorney to lemon out the cobalt. If i do that i dont know if i will get another cobalt. I have been looking at the pontiac solistice and have fallen in love with the car. if i cant do that then i will be going for a eclipse gsx and building it up till i can buy a new car........

Rick, good luck on the lemon, but do you think you will be getting rid of the car by Saturday? I think that stuff like that takes some time.. Either way, you can be a camera man if you don't have your balt lol..

 

im down...a friend of mine works at greensboro grandprix and im heading up there (its right off of I40) at some point to check out the new track layout and drive some. i might not be able to get to the park till about 1 or so due to some stuff i gotta do before i leave here saturday. so we can meet up and eat and kick it then go ride some go cartssssssss...it r fun

 

Its not so much as i think it will be done by then its more of i don't want chevy to pull something out of there ass and say it was done at the track thats why its always broke kinda thing. Since i havent gone to the track they cant say anything

Rick, I hear ya on playing it safe with the lemoning.. but we may not even make it to a track, so you could just say you were grocery shopping in winston salem lol... no pressure, i just wanna see a crapton of Balts..

 

anyone know how the weather is gonna be? Heard we might get rain the next couple of days here, that could ruin the cookout idea unless the grills are located under some type of cover.
