Yeah that plus a stupid rich tune would make sense... You need to put the 2.8 on that thing and do race Steve after getting it tuned of course. That would be a good race. Or racing any of the stock SS/SC guys right now.
I'm gonna go pass out. Peace

a 2.8 would scare me for my car. properly tuned, a 2.9 for me should be close the the 2.8 for steve. weight and stuff. plus my suspension is fully built and all that. so i have a few advantages over the 'normally' modded cobalt or jbody with similar motor mods. i can say with full confidence that my suspension/brake setup is goodfor atleast .2 in the 1/4 just because of weight and added ability.

I dont think you can hit a 2.9 without your injectors hating life. You will go super lean due to the IDC being greater than 100%. Stock is about what you can go unless you get larger injectors.

I dont even think those will work. 42's and a 2.9 are about the limit. I was at 106% on a 2.8... Granted that was a rich tune from Stevo... Maybe pull about 99% with my tune.. I suggest 60's... **** get 80's and go E85!

ive persoanlly seen a jbody with 36's using the 2.9 pulley with about 84%. i only have a 2.7 and a 3.0 anyways. so ima roll the 3.0 and the 36's will be just fine!

gotta have faith in your tune though chris. I think you can do it.

Eh my 39s held 13 psi on my car fine... which is pumping more fuel than you would need on a 2.8

Oh I have total faith in my tune. Just saying from experience with the blower and injectors.

It takes power to make power for a blown car, so that statement isnt necessarily true. Obviously it is not pumping more fuel because you are not running out of fuel like the 42# 2.8 guys.

This. On a stock ss/sc, the supercharger takes something like 30 hp to spin at redline, and a good deal more with you start shrinking the pulley. A 250 whp supercharged car is going to need more fuel than a 250 whp turbo car.

also matters how high they were/are reving it

IIRC some LSJ guys were running stage 2 pulley with stock injectors but keeping the rev limit at 6.5K back in the day

Everyone chime in on these comments in my video thread on you tube. Some idiot saying he has a stock turbo SRT4 is saying he is running down Z06's.
