When you're putting the lights back together do you put the lenses on before you put them in the oven and just throw some more sealant on them and bake?

 

I mite be wrong but I think I have heard you just put the sealant and let it dry the over is only to get the lenses off to paint the headlights

 

you only bake them to take the lenses off.Once off, you HAVE to clean ALL the old silicone out.Lay a 1/4 inch bead of silicone around the whole housing and put the lense back on.I used a ratchet strap(with a cloth in between) to make sure they were tightly sealed and let cure for 24 hours.

i just dig out some the old sealant and put them back in and lay a nice bead of sealant around the lens

 

oh well i replied way too late and yeah i used a ratchet clamp to make sure it was super snug

 

I only make sure its completely clean because the 1st time I didn't,and they leaked really bad.This is something you don't wanna take shortcuts on as it'll take even longer to clean all the silicone out that you just put on.I'm sure if you get most of it you'll be fine but I wouldn't want to do it twice again.Just take your time on them and they will turn out good.

 

yeah getting them to seal is a PITA but i just gunk the **** outta them with all diff types of sealant i have laying around
