Well guys, it is official, I accepted the job in Washington D.C. and will be moving out there within the next couple weeks. We might be trading in my wifes corolla and my balt for a CR-V for her as it will be much nicer to make the move in. I now have EJ's stock turbo (which is slow and doesn't sound beastly like the 2871 did, lol) and I have some of my parts for sale. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in any of them!

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/part...-parts-263039/

More importantly, if I'm around the next few weekends and not traveling we might be having a little going away party and everyone will be invited. I'll let you know if it happens (it will provided I don't have to travel the next few weekends) so hopefully I get to see everyone before leaving. Also, if I have left a hood in your garage, don't worry, I'll definitely do something about it before leaving! :-)

did steve not tell you? i can get my hands on all the valves, and the head. it is used, but should all be in operating condition still. gimme a call if you want more info, or whatever. The head is still completely assembled as far as i know except for 1 valve and spring, and is missing half a keeper....lol...

and Tyler....this will be on the cheap too buddy.

The exhaust valves should be fine since we only initially only touched the intake.so 8 valves and a trip to the machine shop is due.

When you put new valves in a head, they need to be lapped and seated.I think were gonna let the pros due this so we have no more **** ups.I already feel bad for retarding the intake cam a tooth.I should have reset timing from the get go.I feel at fault.well pull the head and see what damage there is on thursday.all intake valves are bent for sure though.you can see em through the intake ports

I figured it was for the lapping.. I lapped all mine myself, not too hard. I got the compound and tool. Peace of mind is probably a must at this point so bringing it to the shop is a good idea.

When you time it next time pull the cover so you make sure its 100% correct since the crank pulley doesnt have a TDC notch like stock.. It had to be only a tooth off at my house because compression was good and it was idling damn good. Sucks this happened.

i think i am gonna recommend a new chain too. since the cover will be off. a new chain wouldnt be a bad idea. i was reading up. if we support the motor from underneath, and remove the motor mount, removing the cover should be painless.
