Arizona BS Thread
Well Chris, you will know just as much, if not more then I will. I am just saying BEFORE blaming IPT out right, make sure that there is no human error. ie: low fluid, lose connectors, or any things else that could be QTI's fault before blowing off the handle and jumping down IPT's throat. Why not try a complete fluid/filter change to a conventional ATF? Not all transmissions like the same fluid. My dads 4t65EHD HATES synthetic fluid. Runs better with conventional ATF.
Also, I know that Tyler likes to shift his car likes its a 5 speed. Is there anyways AT ALL that this type of shifting could be atleast a little bit of the reason he is eating transmissions so fast.
I'm not blaming you Tyler. Just putting all the facts out to try to help you. Sometimes it can be the driving style that causes issues, and not the parts. Sometimes people have to change their driving style to keep stuff from breaking on their car. Maybe this is one of those times.

Is his trans cooler functioning properly? No kinked lines or anything? Whose to say QTI didnt put bulk fluid in and shelf the mobil 1? I would try a fluid/filter change and go from there, atleast change the fluid and MAKE sure that it has proper levels in it. The only way to know for sure is to do it yourself!
i have no idea. is there not a dipstick? thats why i said a fluid change. then add the right amount.
im sure you can find out how much it takes including the torque converter. empty it, measure old fluid, put back in proper amounts? i'm just throwing things out there that it "could" be. for fluid to be burnt sounds like it was low to begin with to me.

I was looking for a damn dipstick but Tyler said there wasnt one
Not sure really.
Edit: Just found this.

Turn on, cycle forward and reverse for 3 seconds each. When level car is level open this plug. If fluid comes out its over full, if none then its low.

Talked to IPT today after the. 'Builder' was a ass hat to me and said that my car has to throw a code in order for it to not shift or slip... there's no code. It is what it is. He said that it was an impossibility and that I don't know what I'm doing.... like really?! What a ******* ass hole. He also said he wouldn't be covering fluids or the removal and install or any of the shipping. . He said no one has ever broke one before so I must be well over 500 wtq. Okay fucktard! Needless to say I'm out a thousand dollars at least and wont be doing business with IPT again after this. Done with the cobalt. Finding something else
well im out of opinions until i know that the fluid is at the correct level. Chris you should know as well as anyone that sometimes it is the most simple things that cause these stupid types of problems.
If its slipping, then there could be not enough fluid in the lines to hold pressure, if it is burning, then the trans could be "over using" the fluid that is in it causing the burning.
How much fluid is in the trans cooler core and lines? did they compensate for that when adding new fluid?
i know once i add an oil cooler ill need about 1.5 qts more oil to keep levels the same...

Then that is where I would start before blowing up IPT about a broken trans. Id rather throw 60 bucks worth of fluid at it and have the issue still be there, then throw 1k at removing the trans only to find out it was low on fluid.

Greg said they put in almost 13 quarts when I was there to pick it up... So they may not have compensated for it... because I know that it should be like 12.3 quarts or something like that...
Hey so went home and switched up the intake it was a little to loud "at all times" lol so I'm using the aem elbow with stock air box, is this pretty legit setup like this? It's running fine it sound better then stock just not as loud at the full intake.
All that **** that is connected to your intake in the front, take it out, there is a spot where it bottlenecks. Cut it out and replace with a silicone coupler. Even easier way is run a 3" tube from your airbox into the wheel well.
