Airride or Coilover, Which Is Best For Performance?

I've been reading that air-ride susp is just as performance driven as good coilovers. I figured it would be nice to have so you don't have to worry about speed bumps or any bumps for that matter. I've only seen the easystreet airride susp on the market for my car is there anything better on the market? and if coilovers is the way to go, i've seen a couple different kits which is better?................ What do you guys think?

maybe it's just me... but i can see alot more going wrong with an air ride than coilovers... i dont think air ride is meant to take the abuse of hard turns like coil overs are.

air ride can perform just as good as a coilover if its set up right.. sure air ride is expensive and there are all kinds of demons. i have had several air ride cars.. the balt is getting it this summer.. just because of the nasty streets around here.. and it just looks damn cool.. drop it like its hot...

coilovers offer better handling in general, and weigh a hell of alot less.

Coilover are designed specifically for adjustable performance handling. Airbags are show toys.

Can't run a car at the track with an airbag suspension, at least not around here.

I agree, Its mainly a muscle car thing. The VW people seems to think that coilovers are the best way to drop a car. IDK where they got that idea. They are for fine tuned handling. A great addition to an already great handeling car in my opinion. I wish I had the money for some coilovers.

I dont know too much about this stuff...but i have a buddy that put coilovers on his eclipse, and he broke them. What causes this to happen? Installer error, or are they just no good, or what.
