B+G Cobalt Suspension have finally arrived
i apologize if this question was posted before, but here goes. I have the b& g coilovers installed for about about 5,000 miles now. i hit a really bad pothole, and the ball and socket joint where the sway bar attaches to the stut tower popped out. nothing looks to be bent or broken. has anyone ever heard of this before, any advice? if i can pop it back together somehow will i be ok? thanks.
i have recently installed these as well. here's a link to my thread with pics: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/suspension-67/yippeeeee-123213/
the ride quality can change drastically depending on the dampening settings. the rears can only be set to hard or soft. honestly i can't tell much of a difference between the two, but the hard is a bit bouncier when going slowly over small bumps and dips.
the fronts are 12 way, as far as i can tell. after i got an alignment, the guys set it to the hardest settings, which is like super hardcore racing settings. let me say, it was pretty much un-driveable on regular streets, going over railway tracks and ****. But I still made it home. It corners like a monster though. and when the roads are smooth, its like gliding on air. the steering is alot more responsive, and braking distances improve too.
when the fronts are set to the softest setting, its pretty close to stock suspension. I've actually been keeping them on the softest for now, but I will bump them up slowly so I get accustomed to the rougher ride. hope that helps.

well u dont really need them, kinda makes doin alighments easier and more accurate...ive been on my coilovers for over 2 months now and still didnt get an alighment.i just jacked the front end up,made the steering wheel straight and use the old string method...tie it to the back of the exhaust and go around with the string throguh the sides and to the front bumper..line the string with the front and back tires so its at the half of the rim and fix ur chamber
Whoops. You're right. the fronts are 18 way, I just checked. I was driving on the 5th setting from softest, so I guess the ride can get even smoother than that, which is amazing. The rears though... I have no idea how to adjust them. I know there is a type of ring near the end, and it says "hard" and "soft" but I couln't really turn it one way far enough to feel the "clicks". Can you explain how I can do it? And do I have to take the strut off to adjust it?
i posted a couple days ago that my sway bar end link failed. i got a new one from the dealership, and took the whole coilover out to check it out and make sure nothing else look damaged. while bolting it back onto the car, the weld holding one of the bolts onto the mounting plate broke. i have only had these coilovers on for 5,000 miles and drive carefully, and the shocks have been set on the softer side. has anyone else had any problems like these? is it just my car or what is going on here? very disapointed...
