cut stock springs

Hey wats up guys this is just outta curiosity..jus wanted to know if any u guys have cut ur springs to lower ur car and if u can in the first place? Cuz one of my friends here in town said he did it and it lowered his car pretty nice drop...jus wanted to know if its even possible? But I'm gonna get h&r drop springs...jus curious to get ur guys input....

Yeah it's possible but it's also stupid as ****. Why bother doing that when you can get real lowering springs for a good price lol.

only reason to do it i guess would be to get a better drop without going to coilovers when you already have lowering springs.

but rather than cutting them which makes the bumpstops not fit tight, im going to clamp two coils together on my megans for about a month soon before i order new struts just to see how the drop is, im certain it will ride like a wood roller coaster but its for looks, and it takes 30 min to do and its REMOVEABLE!

I had them on a 93 plymouth laser i bought for $200, clamped 2 coils together had it for a year no problems and was whipping it all the time, perfectly safe.
