Diff. between Coilovers/struts?
I'm surprised no one has answered this yet....I'll bite
Basically, theo nly difference is the threaded body of the strut and the ability to raise or lower the car due to the threads on the strut. This allows the "spring perch" to raise or lower creating that ultimate slammed or 4x4 look that everyone desires.
I go back and forth on which is really better, but i think it really depends on a bunch of factors; 1. Where do you live? 2. how often are your really going to adjust them 3. How low do you realiistically want to go? 4. How serious are you with racing?
After you ansewr those questions, I'm sure you'll see where the coilovers seperate themselvs from a static spring setup.
The question that I have is if someone offers coilovers already, why can't they just offer a basic strut for us? All they have to do is put a spring perch on the strut body and not machine the threads. What the deuce?

I've been riding on my stock struts and shocks for damn near 10,000 miles, and they havent worn out yet, I'm very suprised
Ive put much more than 10000miles on mine and they start to feel spongy but they re doing the job.Ive put them back in april without camber kit b/c camber kits were inexistant and my front tires are ruined now.I was and im still waiting for strut but if i had to restart my suspension setup Ill defenatly go with coilover and maybe Ill buy a kit in the futur b/c there is no way for any reason that Ill replace my strut with stock one if aftermarkets struts arent availale. So if you have the $$$ for coilover go for it and take the KW .
