Grease your Moog end links
Grease your Moog end links
Well long story short in the two years I had them I never greased them which most likely caused premature wear which led to failure.
. A couple weeks ago I had a clunking noise again and it wound up being the moog passenger side end link. Never hit any bad pothole to my recollection either.
Two years ago I replaced the endlinks along with moog cabs, tc struts, sway bar bushings and a passenger side strut mount while trying to figure out a clunking noise. Well it wound up being the sway bar bushings and my control arms have a mark to show for it. So fast forward two years later I replace the bushings again when the clunking noise returned but didnt fix it. I was
so trying to diagnose it myself it seemed like it was coming from the steering shaft. No dice....replaced it and problem still persisted but surprisingly placebo effect or not my steering feels stiffer. My gf is 115 pounds so im left alone when it comes to shaking my car. I grabbed both strut towers and wiggled the car side to side and felt the clunk in my left hand aka passenger side even though the clunk sounded like it was originating from the driver side. I then laid on the ground and with the car on the ground not on jackstands and with my left hand holding components and my right hand pushing up and down on my fender carefully to shake the car and replicate the clunk. I fiinally found it coming from the endlink.
So moral of the story....if your endlinks are serviceable then service them! Time for me to go buy a grease gun.
