JBP Big Brake Kit: Cobalt SS/SC

Good News

We should be releasing our JBP Big Brake Kit within 30days. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Denny with his ability to donate his car for testing. Without further adieu here are the system details (may be subject to change):

FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM
- Dual Piston Aluminum Caliper
- Black Finish with JBP Logo CNC Milled on Caliper
(other colors optional)
- Crossdrilled or Slotted 325mm x 32mm Vented Discs
- Carbon Fibre Metallic Brake Pads
- Cadnium Plated Discs in Silver
(Gold or Black optional)
- 2 pc. Disc Available as upgrade

REAR BRAKING SYSTEM
- Single Piston Aluminum Caliper
- JBP Logo CNC Milled on Caliper
- Crossdrilled or Slotted 304.8mm x 25.5mm Vented Discs
- Carbon Fibre Metallic Brake Pads
- Cadnium Plated Discs in Silver
(Gold or Black optional)
- Attempt to offer 2 pc. Disc Available as upgrade for rear

We are hoping to have at least 10 drivers built up in time for a release. We are aiming for an amazing GP price of about $2219CDN ($1997USD). (Regular to be around $2900CDN) (Prices may change ever so slightly) Any questions or comments, please let us know. Add your name to the list.

So, um, not wanting to poke at your product or anything, but why the smaller than (SSBC, Wildwood, Baer) rear brake rotors? Why crossdrilled OR slotted?

great prices but i think i am just going to replace stock rotors b/c it is too hard to find a good looking rim to accomodate those monsters. What kind of rim would i have to get in order to fit these i mean spacing wise, and how much would a normal install time be on them.

I spoke with Pete at Baer, they have part numbers and pricing. There kit is basically in the thought stage. There are part numbers and pricing but nothing more. They do not even have a car for testing. The pricing we got from Baer is near the $3500CDN mark. There is no scheduled release date. I find it hard to identify that pricing is available without a product.

The minimum rim size question will be answered on Monday after fitting and design has been complete.

As indicated in the description. The specs are subject to change, we are attempting to go with what we assume will fit dimensionally, but also are going to match the tires with the entire brake package. Cross-drilled AND Slotted is strictly for aesthetics. There is no benefit in relation to having both... Having said that, we can offer both as an option for those who want it.

Im down

I'll front the money right now for the brakes if you want it. I tried ordering the Baer kit from a local dealer only to find out (after putting $1000 down) that they don't actually make it. I need brakes! I just bought your Straffes-Drehend coilovers, and I've got the money for your brakes too, and I want all of the upgrades with the drilled 2-piece rotors. What colors are available???

I wish they made a raceday set of brakes. Good to see more products for the Cobalt.

Very nice. I was hoping for Stop tech or something, but a big brake kit from you guys is awesome. I'll be putitng that on my wishlist. I definitely want cross drilled AND slotted.
