CM Lowering Springs CHEVY COBALT SS 05-10 09 08 07 06 | eBay ??
I can't imagine a 1" drop doing much though, I would think at least 2" to be worth it.

My rear was sitting higher on the one side but it settled in. For everyone interested, www.canuckmotorsports.com; hopefully posting sites is alright on here. The drop is great. You don't need more in my opinion.

Probably the axles from being lowered...look in to aftermarket mounts and / or axles (if available) to get rid of it, or find a set of springs that doesn't go quite as low. It's worse with people in the car because the added weight makes it sit that much lower.

Don't know the "if" part, but the "how" is that they help shift the engine / transmission position so the angle of the axles is brought closer to stock. When the car is lowered the axle joints can be put at a greater angle than they're meant to operate at, which causes the noise and vibrations. That's why it can be even worse when the car is loaded down.

dead thread revival....but everyone is talking about the drop on these springs...they look amazing in pictures. but why on the website does it say the drop is like 1 inch in the front and .5 in the back?? unless i'm missing something
"Cobalt SS '05-'10 1 0.5 Coil 2130.42100 $149.95"
1 referring to front drop and .5 referring to rear drop
thanks!

I emailed them and they said that the springs did not change and this was a typo. However that was months ago and they never changed it. Here is a pic of the springs bought after they changed it to .5" in the back. They are sitll the same as the 1.5". Sorry for the blurry pic. The beauty of these springs is they have nearly the same spring rate as stock.

I think its just the picture man, you cant really see where the tire is so it makes the gap look bigger. im still running these springs and they look ******* good.
also to the other guy, i dont see how you would be getting axle bind. i havnt heard of that ever happening with these. mine has been fine.

Dakotaspeir has better shots of these springs. The gap is about 1.5 fingers in the front and 2 in the back. I'll see if I can take a better pic later today as well. They've settled a bit since that picture was taken as well. That pic was 2-3 weeks after install.
Problem with going H&R or B&G is you will sacrifice handling and ride comfort.

new info on these springs... i emailed CM to see if the drop had changed and this was their reply. (it doesn't make sense to me but since they said the drop never changed i got them anyways)
"Hi,
No the drop has always been the same, although there was some confusion before wen some customers thought is was 1.5" drop.
Since they thought it was a 1.5" drop thats what they saw. But really it was ALWAYS a .05" drop.
The design came from the engineer that made them from a stock pair. So the design was to make the car still be even front and back.
If the drop was 1.5" the car would not sit level..
It is your call but our design has never changed.
Regards,"
