looking to get springs

I'm looking to get new springs for my 2.4 sport. Does getting new springs void any warrenties? If so, is there anyway of lowering the car without voiding the warrenty? Thanks!

Lowering your car will void the warranty on your struts. If you want to lower your car, you should buy performance struts eventually anyways. The stockers will do the job until the ride quality goes for a dump.

your entire warranty won't be void

just on your struts... which if you want to lower your car you may need some better ones anyway

they don't void a whole warranty. if you put on springs, and your struts blow out, they will not be covered. but other things still will be covered, as long as they have nothing to do with your springs.

Alright thanks guys. The reason I ask is because my parents don't want the warrenties on my car to be voided, and lowering the car is something I really want to do. I have the new 2008 2.4 sport coupe, should I expect to see wear on anything if I buy sportlines? Also, if I drive safely and not hard, should it be okay with the springs on the car?

I dont think your really need to drive "safely and not hard". I mean I would avoid taking it off any big jumps but cornering hard is what they are made for.

That is true. But can I expect to damage a strut if I put springs on? I don't want to mess anything up because if it's not covered under warrenty then I would have to pay! By the way, how much are new struts?

Thank you jacob. My question still hasn't been answered. Is it safe to put aftermarket springs on a 2008 2.4 with stock struts?

Yes, but eventually you will need new struts.

Thanks for all the help guys. Now I just hope I can convince my parents to let me get them because they are big on warrenties. Great...

We carry the Eibach Sportlines in stock, which IMO are the best springs for the cobalt. I personally have them and they offer a great ride, and look nice. I have them on stock struts for now, but will be doing Konis soon.
