How to tell if dealer flashed hp tuned car back to stock?
A post by another member had me thinking. I have a GM stage 2 pulley and GM stage 2 injectors, but I tuned my car myself using hp tuners. This was over five years ago.
Is there any way to tell if the dealer somehow used a tech 2 to flash the car back to stock? Would it throw a code?
Just curious. This might help others out as well.
Thanks.

Hard to do, I sold my hpt program after I tuned the car. lol
How bad will it run? I think I still have the tune on my PCM because my fans come on early. Coolant never goes above 180, stock they didn't come on until 220 iirc.

Flash an OEM tune on your car.
Report how it runs.

I think a red flag w/o even checking the tune parameters would be your over all rev limit.
Almost all GMS2 tunes rev to 7k (some were backed down to 6.5k later on).
Have a dealer hook up a tech 2. They should be able to tell from that if the PCM has been flashed.

So my part came in. They said they have to reprogram the anti-theft but that the PCM remains untouched. Several hours to do the procedure and no loaner car to get back to work.
Almost ready to say **** it - not even worth the time.

For the power steering recall a few years back, I sat and waited for the car. They brought it right out for me once they were finished. No test ride. I think they know I'm nuts, lol.
I had a guy so nervous installing tires once, he forgot to give me a free alignment check, haha.
