MAF tuning
Touch VE - touch it alot. If - WHEN your maf fails, you will pat yourself on the back for not popping your engine.
for the 05-06 you can leave the maf and ve tables alone if you're doing 42lbers. they will be fine. cruise won't freak. once you get to 60's minor tweeks here and there to either one will be fine. the cruise won't **** itself and you won't throw a p0068 code.
07's have the 68 code shut off factory, so my ve table looks like *****

i didnt mean nothing by it..just wondering where u got the info from (if it was from another forum) ur not going to feel it from tuning ve..but like stated it would be a nice warm fuzzy if ur maf fails
Well...I'm a petroleum engineer and deal in volumetrics all the time. I just find it hard to believe that they would put this table in and all it does is hang out until one day his buddy the MAF fails.
First of all, our VE isn't true volumetric efficiency, so it really doesn't make huge ammounts of difference. It does make some though. Is it worth the extra time and fuel? It is to me, but I am OCD. I keep my long trims pretty much at =/-2%. I do notice that, although the idle is smooth, with a screwed VE table, my short trims will bounce from +3 to -5 in one cell. With my VE nailed I get +1 to -2 in the same cell. To most people, that's not even worth dicking with it. To me it is.

Hey guys. It’s all good. If you don't want to bother with VE tuning then don't. I don't mind burning a tank of fuel to try it out. I am not disagreeing with anyone. knowledge is power and I have gained valuable info from all of you. Tuning these cars is almost an art and I'm just trying to gather all the info I can to perfect that art.
Thanks again for all your input into this.
