Did you ever use the 75-shot?... Because the average S2 SS/SC isn't "much more of a beast" than a 99-04 GT w/ a 75-shot.

The point was that 302 ci = 4.948 L... so there was some siginficant rounding going on.

There's always a faster car. Don't be a douche... I can get 35 friends/cars to tow your ass down the strip in a single night... so don't play the tough guy roll (AKA the TROLL roll).

And as much as I love beating them in my Cobalt... I love them... well, most years.

I just get tired of seeing all of the GODDAMN V6's that there are around here!

Yes the 75 shot was used. No it was not the end-all-be-all people think it should have been. It added some torque and some speed but it wasn't devastating. Might be that it was a Zex kit. I don't know. Like I said, that was my show car. The 86 was the track racer.

Look Mustang folks/groupies/protectors, I'm not pissin on the Mustangs. I've had three of them. 80 Turbo Cobra, the 86 GT and the 04 GT. They were great cars.

It's about the perception of the power. You drive a charter bus 100 mph. You drive a Corolla 100 MPH. The Corolla is going to feel like it's going much faster. There's no mistaking this. It's like the difference between riding a in train and riding in a roller coaster. The Corolla and the roller coaster is going to be perceived as much more of a 'Beast' than the Bus or the train.

Yeah, perception is one thing, and I'm not saying you're bashing Mustangs or anything... I'm just saying an '04 GT w/ a 75-shot is going to be as fast or faster than MOST of the S2 cars on this site in the 1/4-mile.

Heck, I know a V6 Mustang that's faster than 99% of the cars on this site with bolt-ons and a ~80-shot.

How about I drive the 4.5 hours your way one weekend and we run the Balts?

Or better yet, you could drive the 4.5 hours this way and we could show the tools around here that my Balt is not a freak of nature and more than one quick one exists?

Hell, we'll make a party out of it!

well the fact that the v6's with 75 wet shots from zex are running low 13's would lead me to believe your cobalt is nowhere near as quick as your gt was. may feel quicker but it sure as hell shouldnt be.

no offense to anyone, but i don't understand how you guys are going from rwd cars to fwd cars. I feel like i got hit in the head with a brick and lost half of my mental capacity every time i drive a decently quick fwd car. it just seems so wrong...

Thats just about the most ignorant thing I've read all day.

Put $2000 in mods into a mustang, then put $2000 into a cobalt SS/SC then get back to me.

For perspective, my 88 LX hatch 5.0 with full interior minus back seat, an 88K mile stock short block 302 with a $250 comp cam, $800 set of used ported GT40X heads, long tube headers, mild 3.55 gears, a bunch of other cheap miscellaneous used performance goodies (used parts are GALORE for mustangs) my car went 12.90 @110mph N/A last week my first time out to the track with the new cam/heads with absolutely no tuning and some dismal 60 fts. I smoked the living **** out of a brand new 6.0 liter 405HP GTO that had gears and a lid, but its just a "50 to heavy and not enough power". Oh and did I mention that I also have a 125HP ZEX kit that I didn't even need to use to get a 110MPH trap speed. Try 117-120mph traps with a stock 302, heads, cam, ported stock intake, and a shot! When somebody with a cobalt starts trapping 120 with that few mods then I'll shut up.

And I'm not doing the troll thing, I know there is a million cars faster, but to go out and say a 5.0 stang is a turd, you obviously have never been to a race track because any local drag strip I've been to is like %60 5.0 mustangs running at it, and most of them are quite fast.

I have both Best of both worlds..........the cobalt ss/sc is my daily, the mustang is my beast

wow... I didn't say he had Port and Polish, I was simply correcting dude that said Header/exhaust can have no supporting mods (not speaking 5.0 specific).... anyway, he only had CAI and Larger Throtle body... the rest looked stock, except for headers, cat-back, larger (blue) plug-wires... car ran good, couldn't even hear mine over his during WOT, thats until I left him though.... lol...
