Im going to apologize to any Cobalt owners other than this very "special" person above about my comments. I just cant stand RICERS, even if they own nice cars ( aka a SS/SC ).
blainestang you of course are confused. i made no comment about the potential of the mustang. the comments were in reference factory stock cars. nothing i said is disputable. and i realy don't care about your bullit. you may question my comments intent but the facts remain the same. external modification has little performance improvement. less turbo or supercharer instalation. i know how sensitive some mustang owner are. but i have not been beat by a v6 mustang or a four banger out on the street yet. and as i told you i have been at this for a long time and so i am not at all surprised that you would be builing a 4 banger. i have seen this application i a number of pony stock cars. i also have an LS1 car that needs no defending. my comment was the 2.0 ss/sc makes more hp per cubic inch than the stock naturally asperated 5.0. do you disagree with this statement? and if so how so?
I will be MORE than happy to race some of you at cordova this summer/fall with my 85GT if you want. Not because i think my car is faster than everyone on here, but because i think it would just be fun, but any of you that want to talk smack all i have to say is cordova, IL next spring
no my astatement is the same. there is no magic in the mustang. and my original comment has not been discounted by anything other than opinoin. and all your tuff talk and name calling simply shows your defensiveness. at no point did i change my statement of fact. and 300 hp is what a 08 gt 4.6 is putting out. these are not make believe stories on the internet. and the cobalt should not be disrespected based simply on unrealistic build specs. when being compared to a V8 system. thats just the way mustang ranch works though. your turbo is worth about 100 hp. and yes i live in the real world and thats the way it is. try not reading so much into what you think i mean. the horse power quoted has nothing to do with your argument about how hard you can squeeze 5.0. i get the impression you think i don't respect the small block. i never even said a negative thing about mustang or the 5.0. the comparision was to a 4 cylinder motor and an 8. but as mustang owners apparently you can't see that. and so here we go again. it is not about who is better or who is faster they are what they are. and as for my exsperience i am not judged by children reguardless of how they percieve me. and ricer i don't think so.

the newer mustangs (2005+) are an embarrassment! i mean for christ sake they are slow as ****, it may be rated at 300hp but thats nowhere near enough for that bloated pos.
As for comparing v8s to 4 cylinders, i agree its pointless, so how about we take a step away from the 5.0 vs SS/SC arguement and let me put this out there, i could spend around $5-6k (including price of the car!!!) and stomp any cobalt on this site with a 2.3, see its REALLY easy to swap a 2.3t into a 4cylinder fox and put out almost 200hp with that motor being stock and around 250hp before haveing to do any major mods (turbo upgrade and so on). only 100hp for the turbo? are you nuts? the turbo foxes are way faster than the supercharged ones and the supercharged ones are getting around 100 extra hp.

Take the hint... you made incorrect statements.
Sure, a 20-year-old N/A pushrod motor makes less hp/L than a late-model supercharged one. Yay! No one debated that. However, that point is meaninless and fanboy-ish, and many of your other statement are incorrect... and that's what EVERYONE is pointing out.
You can make 300 HP with the stock blower and motor, but its going to cost ya. Ported blower, machined snout, 2.5" pulley, meth injection, 60 lb injectors + harness, Cobra H/E, tune, spark plugs, CAI, full exhaust, 100+ octane tune, and a dual pass for good measure.
Better hope piston #4 doesnt go though, that is a tendency of the SS/SC.
The LSJ can handle 300 HP, but that is getting close to its threshold. Its best to use N20 to attain that high of HP just because it is less stress on the engine overall compared to a consistant 300+ HP SC or turbo setup. Not to mention less heat soak.

I hope thats sarcasm. If not, its already been done and it was one of the first Cobalts to run into the 12's. This was back when the original 1/4mi list was first created, jeesh long time ago.

My best friend has a blown foxbody with an original 69' windsor motor that runs 6.2s in the 1/8th (street car)...so I am not biased by any stretch of the imagination.

boost is not the answer.
i don't believe that a stock 5.0 with a turbo will run in the 11 sec. quarter even if it is in st. louis. a turbo 5.0 would do well to run 13's. so come on mustang guys to be talking the same old tired ford guy ****. the mustang wins the pony car class by defaut only. there is no magic in the mustang. and 300 hp is about all your gonna get. and with 2.0 and a stage 2 you get 250 hp so let's do the math which one makes the most hp per cubic inch. and anyone can site something they have seen how about what you have and drive everday.

hell i know 2 girls that like my cobalt better than my mustang. my wife and a friends wife. my wife mostly because she didnt want me to have 2 fun cars and my friends wife because shes into the import scene.
idk guys.. mos the girls i know prefer the SS SC... they say the mustangs r gud for the lil girls outside the mall.. lol.... personally if yall wanted a car to get girls i suggest a porsche... lol or u can b cool like me and buy a s2000.. lol
