evo x vs ss/tc
Well if you are looking to make a pure hp monster for as little as possible, you can't beat the fox body Mustang....but with that said, the Evo's are good tuner cars....but not that cheap once you want to break past the 11's....if your ultimate goal is no faster then mid to high 11's, the SS/TC is a far more cost effective vehicle to mod. (Taking into account car cost as well)

you know it doesnt take much to get an evo into the 11's right? if your talking money spent on mods to get you into the 11's, the evo is cheaper.
any pre x models would be able to make better times for cheaper considering you dont need a turbo upgrade.
and i was looking at exhausts and wont just catbacks are over 700. yikes.
you can try ebay, but I really dont think that youll get good deals because its so new. Also, go register on evolutionm.net. Tons of good info. They even have a sticky called "modding your evo on a budget" or something around those lines. The stickies in those forums are worth their weight in gold.

We did some illegal street racing.
evolutionm.net is a decent site, packed with information, but i get a little tired of some of the members on there. a much more chill forum is evoxforums.com, but they are are a smaller site. the cheapest catbacks for the evo x are Tsudo and Megan, both in the 400 range. also, you will save a little money if you go single exit exhaust vs. dual. catless test pipes run about 125, downpipes everywhere from around 125 and up. you can find good upper intercooler pipes for under 200. silicone intake tubes are around 100. i got my UR UICP for like 150ish used, Perrin silicone intake tube for 75 used, K&N cone filter for 40, and an AMS flash for 500. right now i'm somewhere around 300-310 awhp just with those mods. getting my catless 3" dual exhaust and another flash will land me 330-340 awhp.

very nice. tune, buschur exhaust and intake would probably be all id want on the car. around 300 WHP is fine with me.

I will get a Speed-Circuit 3" test pipe, and eventually a Custom Performance Engineering (CP-E) catback. look for youtube vids of the CP-E. sounds AMAZING.
Lol! nice! yeah Terminator2 said u could prolly help me out with the tuning process. you have HPTuners?
all my car life i have seen one built up.. thats about it..
so i say cobalts own the evos =D
i know mine will one day haha,
chances of running into a built evo, are very slim, most people get them because they dont know how to build up a fast car or just dont want to spend money on making them fast..

You really dont have a clue do u? You must not know anything about cars. No built evo's huh?
http://forums.evolutionm.net/drag-racing-16/
9.75 @ 150 is really slow. Yea, so is 8.8 @ 165.
or how about this, stock turbo evo's:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/drag-ra...os-2009-a.html
real slow. No one knows how to build these at all.
2k will get you over 400 whp, and 400 whp is more than enough to smoke 99.99999% of the cobalts on this site in a drag race. You must live in africa, because most of the evo's on this site are running around 400 whp, and the ones in my area are running the same.
U should research before u post.

chances of running into a built cobalt are way slimmer lol i know of 2 evos in my area with 500whp. you must live in the darkest corner of earth.
i, hoesntly dont even know why the **** we are arguing.
I like the evo's you apparently hate cobalts?
i disagree that its not the best tuner car for the moeny you agree that it is?
is that what we can sum up from this thread?

No. I am sure this will be EVO>css.net for 1BAD for many moons to come. Its never his fault though... There has to be someone here to tell us how fail our cars etc... "turbo size" "Fail wheel drive" etc.
yeah, i was thinking the same thing. first it was how his high and mighty caliber was so much better and easier to get HP out of and now its his evo...
You don't think what isn't the best tuner car for the money? You have to go by new car prices of course, we all know you can get a modified car for cheap used. If you are talking about the evo not being the best tuner car for the money, it could be argued. a cobalt with 10k mods will destroy any stock evo x at the same price, yes. if you're talking about the cobalt not being the best tuner car for the money...of course it is! think of another car that can overall outperform the cobalt for under 30k. the evo x starts at 33 and isn't THAT much faster than the cobalt. there is no other car in its class that can match what the cobalt offers for the price. There are many options to choose from in the 30-40k range, but the evo and sti are pretty much the staple for modding in that price range.
Just like some other idiot who said he drove his dads 04 viper and said it didnt feel as fast as his "TUNE YO!" cobalt. Are you ******* kidding me? They run 11's and trap 123-125 STOCK.
So to answer your question, no I dont hate the cobalt I actually like it a lot. Honestly, before I bought my evo I was looking at some TC's. Then I realized the evo is better, so I went that route.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree on the best tuner part. I honestly cant think of any other sport compact that can do all the cool stuff an evo can do, and this is why I like it best. AWD is by far the most fun and versatile platform I have ever driven, and I have driven both FWD and RWD.
Thats funny.... Last I checked I only called out the no nothing fanboi on here... Do you consider yourself in that category?
