He ran a 04 5.7 gto not a 05 -06 6.0 gto. The 5.7 gto is a high 13 sec car right about where the stage 2 cobalt is so why is everyone saying he should have lost by more? you guys are retarded. some needs to lock this already

 

this guy is obviously either slow , or just doesnt want to face the facts , an ls1 GTO runs anywhere from 13.1-13.5 stock , i have plenty of times to prove this , second the 05+ GTO's run high 12's stock 12.8-13.0

The only thing holding LS2 GTO's back from mid-high 12's are the little donuts for tires they come stock with.

put it this way there fast and they **** on anything that can be had for under 32,000 and if you think people pay 32,000 then your wrong, maybe the people who dont look , like i said a 05+ new can be had for under 30,000

 

sti's are tough to find for under 30,000 and i still think the 05 goat would pull it in the 1/4 mile , sti's run like 13.3 -13.4 - the 04's were running 13.6-13.8

 

thats why my friend works at subaru and cant get one out of the door for under 29,500 and he works there , invoice on them is like 29-30 , they msrp at like 35

 

Why would you start from 60 in a cobalt? thats like the worst speed to start from isnt it? it would either be the verrry top of 2nd or the verry bottom or 3rd...maybe im wrong i havent even seen my car for over a month

Looks like the GTO keeps pulling all the way till you both shut down.

 

i have yet to ever see an o4 run anything less the mid 13's stock. i also have yet to see an 05-06 run in the 12's stock. my friend has an 05 gto 6.0 6 speed all stock. his best times are mid 13's. and he is a very good driver.

anyone in south jersey got a 5.7L(any year) gto?
it would be nice to make a real video ( a couple solid minutes) with a few dig races, then maybe 1 or 2 highway roll races.
i'm a little faster than stage 2, but still not really comp. for a low 13 second car in a dig race.
but, at the very least we can end this debate finally... perhaps our vid could be the reference for all of the gto vs. stage 2 cobalt arguements. (its safe to say that a stage 2 balt would do worse than I)
I wouldnt be opposed to doing it at the track(atco) as this is my place of choice for racing... and i still havent made a racing video (been dying to)
I wouldnt presume to be able to win this race, however, i will do all in my power to represent the cobalt well.

 

too bad i dont live up there or i would make you a nice video , i can get a friend that has stage 2 with hp tuners and fulll exhaust to run me on tape , or i can get one that has a 2.85 pulley header back exhaust and stage 2 tune , or i can get one with just stage 2 and an intake you guys choose and ill make a video , i know all 3 of these cars personally and we can make arrangments for a nice little run

 

your friend cant drive, I ran 13.1@109 with 3200 miles on my car stock. but to be honest with my won eyes I have not seen a 04 GTO go low 13's stock most of the are in the 13.7 range. I know they can but personally i have not seen it

 

i agree with that the 5.7 can but not stock. and my buddy said that his problem is the tires but he still dosent think stock he could ever hit in the 12's.

hahahhaa ive already raced a cobalt with a 2.85 header back exhaust stage 2 tune intake , and i pulled him by like 6-8 cars , i didnt get it on film though it was last weds

I probably would if you didnt live all the way in SC, dont get so mad about your LS1 that has trouble beating 2.0'S....a 290WHP-300WHP ss/sc would wipe the floor with your GTO man....There is something called "Power to Weight"

 

, thanks for proving my point , if i REALLY want to go fast i can do it for free , if someone says they want to race me tomorrow you really think that a 300 WHP cobalt would kill a 380 WHP gto that weighs 3400 lbs with no driver haha keep dreaming , and dont think you can cut tons of weight off an ss/sc , maybe passenger seat , spare , jack and rear seat is maybe 125 lbs in a cobalt

 

I did the same to a stage two cobalt with a 2.9 and cai. I have a stage 3 BCP setup though.
