LNF vs LSJ in Tampa

Well I was not expecting a race the other night (Wednesday) heading back from st pete, but before I hit the gandy I ran across an SS/SC. Not sure if it was a member around here, but it was black with some cool looking eyelids, and some Hid's that were blinding. We stopped at the light and chatted for a sec, (Light near barneys, if anyone is familiar with the area.) and he said he had pulleys full 3'', tune, and other stuff that I didn't know anything about. Long story short 22+ PSI SC car. So we ran from a dig twice. Side by side through 1st, then I hit 2nd and put 3-5 cars on him by the top of 2nd, then slowed down for the next light.

Next run, same result. So we tried from a roll on the gandy raceway. No one was around, and it was pretty late (2am.). Started from a 3 honk 40 roll. I let him honk. I instantly put 4 cars on him, and by 150 about 3-4 Bus lengths, and I let off at 150 for safety purposes. Needless to say though it was fun running another cobalt. Whoever it was, thanks for the runs, it was fun. Your car sounded really nice.

***NOTE*** all runs were taken in mexico

Well i experienced first hand what an HPTuned SS/TC does tonight to ss/sc's that are modded.....we ran a 42#/2.9/intake and exhaust lsj tonight, it was a slaughter, he got 3 cars out cause we had to downshift and caught him and passed like he was sitting still. We also did this to the downpipe/catback ss/tc that was racing as well......im not buying this guys 22psi though, lol.

All I wen't off of was what he told me at the stop light. For all I know it could have been a blower swap, I juswt didn't have time to BS with him at the light.

150 for safety ??? umm that's not a very safe speed. There is no reason to go that fast if you were already beating him by 3-5 cars.

*It was busses, and I did it to prove a point...
I also wanted to make sure that there was no question that I won. Also 2 am in mexico there were no cars for miles, in front or behind us

doesnt matter if there isnt any cars .... you could hit something on the road ie. pot hole, road kill / live animal, etc. Going 150 on a public road is retarded no matter how safe you think it is. I don't think you needed to run it to 150 to prove a point. If you beat him by "busses" i think your point was made. Just let off next time, but hey its your life do what you want with it.

From his stated 22 psi on a full 3in exhaust there seems to be something wrong. Either clogged cat or some other restriction. Unless he was running a 2.5" pulley on the M62, or running a TVS there is really no reason he should be running 22 psi. If he were on a 2.5" pulley or TVS and tuned right, you wouldn't have beaten him by "busses".

Im one of the few people that went to a 2.5 pulley (when I was s/c) and my car would barely hit 20 psi.

i know its unlikely to hit over 20psi with a 2.5, but i was just stating if he is running that high of boost he must have either a very small pulley, TVS, or most likely clogged cat.

Its a bridge with no pot holes. Only animals on it may be seagulls. If I crash on a bridge with no one around, only myself and pride would be injured or killed. I don't do traffic racing. Thats for ricers.

I am just going off stoplight conversation. He could have also been BS'n me, for all I know. I know it had 3 inch for what I could see and hear of it. And it was apparent it had an intake.

On the 13th I will be at gainsville running a friends SS/SC that is pretty heavily modded. Tiny Pulley, and other mods. So I will have some 1/4 mile vids. The last time we ran, I got him by a car when I was stock at San Antonio Dragway. (I ran a 13.71@103.8, He ran a 13.9 at 101.) So I suspect more since I have an intake and tune now, and about 50 more WHP. Off the track I still pulled away from him no problem from a roll.

Ok so your friends is about a stage 2 and thats probably all this guy was that you raced, he isn't pushing 22psi and if he was pushing higher psi he would have beat you or atleast hung with you. And if it was a swapped blower you would have been toast.
