STOP USING GOD DAMN DYNO NUMBERS/WHEEL HORSE ESTIMATES TO COMPARE CARS!!!!!! ITS GETTING REALLY REALLY OLD!!!!!!!
Fact is brozif, you have no ******* clue how much horsepower a Mazda 6's AWD drivetrain eats up. Take the facts that you DO know and make an assumption from them. DO NOT make an assumption based on theoretical numbers that are 100% impossible to prove without some serious, hardcore math and physics calculations. You have absolutely NO IDEA of how much power is being sent to the wheels, unless you are a professor of physics and have done the calculations to figure out the numbers. But I dont think thats the case here.
You know the weight, and you know the hp/tq production. Without even knowing the gearing of the car you can probably come up with an idea of how fast its going to be from those numbers alone. Compare it to a car of similiar weight and power, and say "I think it should be close to car X because its around the same weight and HP/TQ, but will probably be a bit quicker off the line and a bit slower up top due to the AWD." Its really that easy.
Dyno numbers are getting throw around WAY too much around here, more than any other forum I've been on. Its quite sad. Even more sad is that its a Sooby guy im yelling at, not a Cobalt guy

OMG DUDE dyno numbers mean NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Unless they pertain to tuning and gains made from installing/performing modifications Does it have to be spelled out for you? Or are we speaking a language you are failing to comprehend? Just curious

If someone was saying that an AWD car was going to have 274 ponies at the crank, and 260 at the wheels, how would you respond. If you knew what you were talking about you would say NO! Then you would use the best peice of evidence readily avaliable, a dyno sheet. There really is no other way to easily explain AWD loss on a forum. I did not say that the MS 6 would be slow becuase of a dyno, all I was trying to prove is that it would not put down 260 at the wheels. So backtrack a little and read what I posted.
However, the MS 6 will be slow because it weighs 4500 pounds and only makes 274 horsepower.

Take the new eclipse GT(3472lbs curb) with ~260hp that runs close in comparason to the Cobalt SS.

LMAO. We know what he's here for, it's obvious.

Check the specs tag, I couldn't believe it when I read it. I knew from the RX8 board it was going to be heavy, but not that heavy.

Car weight is 3589lbs
ANd for the record I liked the Mazda Speed Protoege--a cool little factory tuner car.
Very good performance for the day.
Here is thelink for th weight

Think about it AWD does NOT add 800lbs
Hey mods is this supposed to be another "informative" thread? If so I would like to inform everyone that pkskull77 like wesman06 is not very intelligent. DYNOS AND THEIR CORRESPONDING NUMBERS ARE ONLY FOR TUNING!!! No wonder people talk to you like you are a child. And you don't even know the difference between curb weight and gross weight
. Nobody has strapped a new MS6 with its completely brand new AWD system to a dyno yet, so your % drive-train loss and blah 205whp blah blah is such BS that I command you to go brush your teeth right now for spewing it. The MS6 will probably be pretty close to the new Mustang GT in performence, maybe slower. See how simple and intelligent that sounds compared to "the new MS6 weighs a lot and has AWD, which means no power to the wheels. So it will be THE SLOW"
