Me vs. VW Rabbit

I have a fully bolted 2008 2.2 Pontiac G5, mods in sig, and i raced my friends manual 07 Rabbit no mods done but is listed at 170hp to the crank and 177 torque

Off the line: both had no traction at the start since it was somewhat wet out so we were dead even but once we both gained traction i pulled out in front about a car and 1/2 lengths which was pretty much how it was the whole race up until i hit my governor at 108 which made him eventually pass me.

30mph roll: he killed me.

i raced him back in august when i didnt have the exhaust yet but had the intake, header/dp(which does **** without an exhaust), and shiftplus and of the line he had me by about 2 car lengths the whole way. I also raced my friends cobalt (1sloblat12) who has I/E/shift+ and it pretty much eneded uo the same way i raced the rabbit, off the line pulled about 1 1/2 cars and from a 40 roll i got beat. which i guess shows how much the header/dp helps low end but you might be sacrificing some power high end.

Weird.. Maybe the 2.2 just kinda sucks? I've killed 2 2.2 LS's, including one with a bunch of bolt-ons, a GST Eclipse, a Civic hatch with a B16.. And I only have a few bolt-ons at this point.. Those Rabbits are fine, but I doubt he should've taken you like that.. Better luck next time.. Good luck..

to fix you high end problem get the 2.4mani.

i heard it helps the high end and something around 13whp and 2tq gained from a fully bolted cobalt.

check createenginedepot.com for the mani and instrutions. it my next mod.

i would but im an 08 and the 07 2.4 mani wouldnt fit, i did see in the how to section someone putting it on there 08 and working https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=135051 so maybe ill look into that a little more and what i would need to buy separately and how much extra it would cost.

Also i do plan on getting the trifecta tune around christmas time so that should help out alot.
