well i raced my balt first time ever..and lord..I'm embarrased to be a cobalt owner. of course the track was absolute **** and there was rubber everywhere and it wasn't even smooth. My best time was like 9.73 and he ran like low 9s to high 8s. He had ram air, headers, magnaflow catback. And i have my stuff in my sig. i figured my next investment will be trans mount lol.. of couse this is the first hardcore raping/launching since i put my stage kit on which was like 2 weeks ago.

2.4 was my best and 2.5 was prolly my average. idk exactly what number it was. but if i had slicks and traction mods i would of done soooo much better.

If you would have ran him in the day time the outcome could have been better. The track could have been cool, even though it doesn't matter a whole hell of a lot without drag radials.

I prefer roll racing. Hooking from a dig is a nightmare. Roll racing is much easier on the car.

OP, you should've told him that you would give him his dig race if he would give you a roll race.

Threads like these make me wanna build an LT1 for the sleeper factor.

Everyone acts like they're the slowest **** ever. My bros 95 with bolt ons and a really shitty 60' went 13.5 @ 105, not far off most LS1 cars. In KC I know a guy with full bolt ons and 4.10's, he went 12.6 @ 108.

I enjoyed mine when I had it, but am I glad I went to an LS1, but I don't see why everyone thinks they're so slow and shitty?

The average LT1 is slow as ****. I know a few that run 10's w/o a blower or turbo but they're few and far between.

Back in the day when the LT1's came out they were pretty quick compared to what was available, I had mine new in 95 and there wasn't much that could touch it bang for the buck . Around here Ls1's were 13.1-13.2 stock but every DA is different .... my brothers Ls1 would leave me pretty bad in 3rd.

While 13.5 is "slow as ball's " it's still faster than the majority of cobalt's here.

very true i can definately agree with you that for their time they were great motors. And i agree, the feelings i have towards cobalts make nuthuggers start tweaking. They are quick daily drivers and ill leave it at that.
