raced a 08 speed3 tonight
Just about an even race stock for stock against the new SS\TC. The MS3 is 200 lbs heavier though.
Those MS3's pull real hard above 90 mph, I'd say from 100-to 130 stock for stock, the MS3 will actually pull ahead of a SS\TC. The SS\TC also only has a top speed, as reported in Road'n'Track and Car'n'Driver of 144-145 mph (low rise spoiler) and that the high rise spoiler is 8 mph slower as it creates too much drag. I've also confirmed the SS\TC top end (145) calm day, good conditions and 74* in the morning, radar verified (5 runs) at GM's proving ground in Chandler, Arizona
The reports of the SS\TC doing 160 mph was exaggerated for marketing purposes.... In fact no stock SS cobalt of any year has gone faster in top end then the new SS\TC ..... The MS3 is drag\aerodynamically limited to 153-155.
