raced a 08 speed3 tonight
Just about an even race stock for stock against the new SS\TC. The MS3 is 200 lbs heavier though.
Those MS3's pull real hard above 90 mph, I'd say from 100-to 130 stock for stock, the MS3 will actually pull ahead of a SS\TC. The SS\TC also only has a top speed, as reported in Road'n'Track and Car'n'Driver of 144-145 mph (low rise spoiler) and that the high rise spoiler is 8 mph slower as it creates too much drag. I've also confirmed the SS\TC top end (145) calm day, good conditions and 74* in the morning, radar verified (5 runs) at GM's proving ground in Chandler, Arizona
The reports of the SS\TC doing 160 mph was exaggerated for marketing purposes.... In fact no stock SS cobalt of any year has gone faster in top end then the new SS\TC ..... The MS3 is drag\aerodynamically limited to 153-155.

Props to you both, nice cars none the less, but:
My bolt-on M6, 2006 GTO made 402 rwhp, ran 12.7@113 on street tires and little traction, contantly beat my buddies bolt-on 2004 Z06 but only by 15 feet each time. If you have a 2005-2006 A4 GTO, they ARE SLOW if it's stock. Pretty goat, nice Lemans blue Z0. I also had a 1991 ZR1 with bolt-ons and ported heads, put down 460 bhp but was 3050 lbs and ran high 11's at 120, very fast for the day.
And CSRT-4's are slow, heavy, have bad aerodynamics.
They look cool though.

YUP! Soo slow theyve run 11.7@120 mph already with just bolt ons.
Good race. Sounds like its pretty much a drivers race and that guy talking up is caliber like its best tuner car ever created needs to STFU. Your car truly IS the ugliest SRT ever created. There's a reason why dealer lots are full of them. No one wants to buy those ugly **** box's except lowlifes like you that think your cool because you have a fast mini van. I would take an MS3/Cobalt SS over an CSRT4 any day. There's just so many factors as to way there a better all round car. Hey your car must be faster and better because it has a refrigerator in the glove box.
Ignorant idiot. Go back to your hole.

the CSRT4 has LSD, just in case u didnt know
whats there to know about the MS3? Unless all the people on the ms3 forums are lieing about their times, and their hp gains from different mods, by all means enlighten me.
I do know so far the best time Ive seen from an MS3 is 12.7 on different forums. I also know that the boost on it was turned up to 20 lbs, on that car, it was running slicks, and a couple other mods. The next best time is 12.9, and that MS3 had many more mods than the other one running 12.7.
I do know that the MS3 needs a turbo upgrade to even think about 400 whp. I know the MS3 also has some of the shittiest pistons, and they have been breaking stock. I also know that they just came out with a pressure plate so you can use ur boost all the way up to 6500 rpms, instead of ur power getting lost at 6k ( I think its 6k? ). 350 whp seems to be the max without a turbo upgrade and forged internals aswell.
I mean, I can keep listing facts about ur MS3 all night long if u want.
Like I said to nismo, different strokes for different folks. U like the twisties, by all means enjoy. But dont tell me ur going to be gaining more HP from a smaller turbo than mine on just an intake. That makes no sense.

I agree, the ms3 turbo is to small, but the car was MADE for road courses, which is does very good on with a stock turbo. You should realize its the same turbo as the T/C cobalt but not twin scroll. So the cobalt will also suffer from some of the same, but you couldnt bash a cobalt could u :P
Yes with a upgraded turbo and internals the ms3 pushes 400whp hell one guy is going for 500 by spring. Also a bolt on with tune stock turbo, stock internals can make over 300whp. So mr high and mighty you just need to know the car and mods before you bash. you know so little about the ms3 yet seem to know soo much about how it sucks..you barely know your own car. So what if the ms3 and cobalt need a turbo upgrade to get more HP obviously you arent considering your own words of wisdom "I like a car I can tune and mod".
The srt4 was made to be a drag queen just like a mustang. car sucks for handling but with upgrades does great in a straight line...now I could call you a red neck and blah blah stereo types but I wont as obviously some people can respect each car for what it is and what its good at.
As for 1/4 times, most of the faster ms3's have not dragged but the ones that have have hit low 12's and thats with noob launch skills. so why wouldnt 11's be there if they had more launch practice? none, its totally possible.
whats this pressure plate you are speaking of? I have not heard of that, there are tunes from cp-e, pasini and cobb that keep the throttle plate open until redline but thats all I have heard about that.
Now can we get back to the topic of a TC balt vs a ms3 instead of csrt4? that can be a new thread as you are just
LSD? you are telling me that by using BRAKES its LSD? hahha ahh yes if you would like to consider a cheap "solution" as using brakes instead of real hardware then fine but thats no way in hell a LSD.

The SS/TC will be the next heavyweight in the sport compact world for all around performance. Unlike my car, the SS/TC is much better in twisties. But in all reality, I just wanted something that is a highway monster and drag queen. Something that can be easily modded to make huge numbers.
I used to own an SS/SC, and I kind of wished I had waited for the SS/TC instead of getting the SS/SC in the first place. Hind sight is 20/20 however, and the SS I had had problems so I got rid of it.
Where have u seen these low 12 times? Do u have a link?

The TC is slower in a 1/4 stock vs stock against a ms3 from the paper numbers. But it has a couple things better, lighter weight, long ass 2nd and 3rd gear and a twin scroll turbo and that launch control stock. the ms3 is **** for gearing if you want to drag I agree. If you want a drag car the ms3 unless modded with a bigger turbo etc is not a good choice.
I agree the srt4, cobalt ss and the ms3 are the 3 top sport compact cars in stock form. I think the srt4 is a drag monster, bolts up well and I love the mopar stages. I love when car manf's make stages for the car so it can stay under a form of warranty and be upgraded. I agree the TC cobalt is the best all around for a coupe, but 2 doors is limiting for some. I hope they make stages again for the TC like the solstice and sky. I almost bought a SS cobalt, but the 2 door thing, I had to have 4. The csrt4 wasnt out on dealer lots when I wanted to look. Either was the HHR SS manual. MS3 was highly reviewed for its class and road trackness. I think in the end of this we both have similar views I just wanted to defend against misinformed attacks on the ms3.
Also its not the pistons that are bad its the rods.
Bah you got me on bad memory, the 12's I see are the 12.7 and 12.9 sorry my bad. But again the big turbo ms3's havent hit the drag I do wish they would....when you put 400-450whp down it would be neat to see the result on a good run. The 2.0 mazda3 with turbo was hitting a 11's though...crazy.

I know rod knock is bad in them, I thought the pistons were poop too. That must have been a lot of work to hit 11's in that 3. How much HP on that m3?
Lets just say its the better version of the srt4. I've only been using this account as a reference but until i saw your retarded ass comments i had to chime in. Its people like you that give the SRT community a bad name so STFU because your the ignorant ****.
If I had read everyone of your post I would have gotten dumber just reading them. It only took one for me to realize you drive a bus and need to come to the realization that your car isn't a gift from god.

Thats right, I dont need any internal upgrades, or turbo upgrades to make that power. What u need to make that power, huh? Can u make that on stock components and stock turbo? I dont think so.
So about being ignorant. What do you have against my CSRT4 other than it "looks like a brick". OOOO NOOOO, what shall I do! My CSRT4 looks like a lunchbox, pumpkin, man van, mini mini van, brick, mini suv!
Dude, if all you got is a looks argument, then ur nothing. You give the SRT4's a bad name. Why dont u go out and buy a MS3 since u seem to think its sooo much better than the SRT4 u fanboi.
Go back into your cave troll. 2 posts since u joined, ur a useless waste of space.
Hell, Ill bet u never even owned a cobalt. WTF u on this site dummy if youve never even had one??
LOLOLOLZ better version of the SRT4?? Are u on crack? U do realize that the CSRT4 has the stage 3 NSRT4 turbo STOCK right? U also do realize that 400+ whp 450+ wtq can be done with bolt ons, and all stock components on the CSRT4 right?

Hmm pretty quick to respond. You sit around the comp all day waiting for a comeback? If thats what helps you sleep at night than so be it but like i said if everyone had the same mentality that you have about the CSRT4 than why are there so many CSRT4s sitting on dealer lots right now? I do believe the MS3 and Cobalt ss are much more balanced cars. All the Csrt4 has going for it is the engine and just seems to lack in every other category. I'll admit I was pretty disappointed when I heard this is what was replacing the NSRT4. At this point in the game the Chevy and Mazda are at the top, and unfortunatly dodge is at the bottom.
I could improve the CSRT4 in the twisties with coil overs and strut bar. Im not for that though, I want straightline and highway/roll performance.
The reason is because dodges marketing SUCKS *****. Look at all the incentives offered from competitors on their cars vs the CSRT4. Better warrantys, better rebates and pricing, better dealerships, etc.
Dodge created a revolutionary new sport compact with the CSRT4. They built it with more than looks in mind. look at all the features it has on it, vs other cars. Also look at what power levels it can handle vs other sport compacts. Its not the best looking car on the market for a reason. I can fold my seats down and I now have a flatbed in which I can lay out a surf board. I can tailgate. I can put beers in the cooler, and enjoy them later on a trip. I cant get 33 mpg on that lovely Getrag 6 speed, which is also used in corvettes and supras. I can comfortably sleep in it. Its great for the drive in with the hatch. It has an aux for an MP3 player and a holder for it. I can cram the **** out of it with groceries or whatever else. The ESP makes it awsome in the winter over ice and snow. The fit and finish on the inside is classy and the seats are amazing. The single button sun roof has an air diffuser that forces air into the cab, instead of it blowing over.
What more do u want out of a DD? Dodge f*cked their marketing with this car. Not many people actually know what it has available on it. All they do is look at it and say: "I dont like it". Its a crazy looking car, but honestly its just as revolutionary for the price and by comparison.
U should know what thats like to have people hating on ur car. "Its just a neon" or "its a neon" sound familiar to u? Thats what people said about the NSRT4 when it first came out. So the way I see it, ur acting just like those people. Remember where u came from before u go insulting the predecessor CSRT4's looks. U were in the same exact boat before people gave the NSRT4 street credit.
wow someone is hardcore bitter at cobalts..........wats the matter? couldn't wait for the ss/tc and got the POS CSRT4 and now your mad?? Grow the *** up dood, your talking miles and miles and miles of bullshit, where are your dyno numbers? 1/4 mile time slips and videos of the CSRT4 doing all these things?? You've got nothing to show us which means your going to get nothing but disrespect from EVERYONE on here, ESSPECIALLY since u own a lunchbox on wheels and think it's cool........straight line power isn't everything, if I had a choice of getting a new CSRT4 or keeping my Hyundai Elantra i'd keep the Elantra, the custom suspension on it would RAPE the CSRT4 in the corners and on the auto-x course................rape doesn't not even begin to describe wat my ss/tc will do to your CSRT4 on an auto-x course
Wow newb, ur just digging ur own grave nice and deep. Do I really have to show u dyno charts? Word of advice, put ur foot in ur mouth before I put mine it it.
thanks erod. I seems to draw trolls out......
