Some kid tells me is 2006 ss/sc takes me by a car

I have a 2005 ss/sc and he tells me that on a mustang dyno he got 212 at the wheel with is 2006. and that 3 different 2005 got only 192-191, is there any truth to this, does the 2006 as that much more hp stock, or he just want to **** me offf... Thanks for your replys guys,,,

He's full of crap. 20hp difference out of the same exact car? Total BS. There were no mechanical changes from 2005 to 2006. Unless that GM badge they added is worth the extra 20hp...

I told you guys about that badge didnt I? I said its an exact 20 HP gain.... I knew I was right!

How do we know nothing was changed? how do we know the computer wasnt programed differently?

I dont know but the rule of thumb does seem to show the 2006's putting a little more horsepower to the wheels.... Not 20 but usually 5-10

... now i heard that this is true ... the ss badge on the side that was moved lower actually makes the car more arodynamic allowing a votex generator into time making the car have a quantum leap when you step on the gas and it pushes you forward like a sonic boom and the gm badge helps stabilize the car when you make a turn by as much as 250% allowing you to turn 90 degrees at 120mph

Some of these replies cracked me up," cheat code " that's great. There is no difference in the cars. Computer reprograms?, if there is a difference(power wise, unlikely), an '05 can accept the same programs. I updated mine, maybe thats why its so damn fast There are too many variables in dyno-runs that as a comparisson it's meaningless IMO. Only good for vehicle testing. Hey, Chevy told us 205hp, most of us must have gotten fluke cars!

I'm a Chevy Tech, so I just download the software into the Tech2 and then program it into my PCM.(also I should check for ant new updates, haven't in awhile). The problem is a Dealership isn't going to just do it for nothing, unless you have freinds on the inside. So, you could call it "fringe benifits".

I am one of those 2005 SS in your story. This story is true, but that 2006 SS was dynoed on a colder day than the 2005, not sure if it could help it to achieve higher numbers. We just have to wait and see if other 2006 tends to dyno more than 2005 ones.
