Zzp downpipe rattle!?

so.. my car has been having a VERY annoying rattle the last couple of days stangely only upon cold start from what i can tell anyway. it to me sounded like a heat shield so immediately i wanted to check that. me being the genious i am was right. haha. i work at toyota so i have access to a lift so i put my car up in the air in bay and started looking around for a heatshield being loose and COULDNT find anything. i was getting so annoyed. so i found a shield that seemed a little loose so i secured it with a zip tie hoping hat would fix it. no cigar. so then that night i came on here and read some threads about rattles and i found one that sounded very similar to mine. i read in it that somebody found that his ZZP Catted Downpipe's heatshield had come loose. the spot welds just let go... there are 4 spot welds and he had 3 of them let go. so i got my car in the air today at work and checked my 3inch to 2.5 inch catted zzp downpipe for this same problem and wat do u know. the heatshield on top of the cat was loose from atleast 2 of the spot welds. so i immediately got so excited and secured it down with 2 pretty large worm clamps. NOW there is no noise what so ever. so im just curious if anybody other than me and the one guy i got the idea from were having this problem. i also made this to help those of you with a rattling noise that you cannot figure out. im wondering if this is common. thanks guys.

Dunno, Never exp that problem. I glanced through search but, that's a pretty useless tool here as if one person mentions ZZP you get 350 pages haha

Make post. Wait 16 mins and bump it. Wait 50 more minutes and bump it again. LOL.

Seriously though. How long have you had the DP on? Check the nuts/bolts where it attaches to the turbo and the axle back. Especially check that nut that's a bitch to get to. There really isn't any other reason for a DP to rattle. Also make sure the piping and O2 sensor aren't bumping into a heat shield or something. If it's none of these it has to be something else making the noise.

Good luck.
