so can we recap?
(i didn't want to read through sixteen full pages of posts)

so this is supposed to see hp&tq benifits on a stock tune?

I understand that the LNF has target air values, and that the ECM will correct to get everything back in line (or at least that's the best way I can dumb it down right now)...

but I am now understanding that only 29 of these are going to be made??

huh??

why only 29!?

to answer your first question... no this intake will not help on a stock tune, other than sound fx...

You will just boost less...

If you have gm stage 1 it should not learn it down like the stock tune. We shall see how t works once it's in ppls hands. 29 are in the first initial production if those sell they will make more.

Simply the first batch. Thats all. There will be more dont worry. Look at how many cars and trucks they make intakes for. They have to switch back and forth.

This thing needs to be logged by someone ASAP. Even though I don't have much hope for it as there isn't a straightener.

Common guys .. don't go crazy buying it because there are only 29 .. They will make more and you will be able to take a better decision with the comments of others.. hey even maybe wait a bit more for vararam to see what they'll do ..

yea but its got a built in heat shield. That makes a world of difference then the other short rams. Its just as good as a CAI without the threat of water soaking the filter.

Its not as bad ass as a cold box but its helpful. I'm just going to wait and see how these new sri's pan out. Hopefully they are all out by summer so I can get some joy riding in.

coming from a L32 GTP I know how inaccurate of a statement that is... I ORIGINALLY had a "air charger" from K&N but even with supporting mods still got a little KR(knock retard) with the pulley drop... with just a simple conversion to a legit conventional fenderwell intake, my KR problem was gone... same conditions, same mods... even same air filter

no doubt the heat shield helps, but it won't shield away as much heat as the filter sitting behind the firewall in the fender

Won't make a big difference when the car is moving though.

Install issues already

I posted in another thread, but I'm thinking the really 08's mustve had them? Because the plate and bolts are pictured in the original picture of an LNF when the car was released:
