If you modified your timing table to reflect the use of 100 octane it will show decent gains (10-15 whp) but on stock timing it is just placebo effect.
Thats why I said "felt faster." I just thought I would give it a shot. My 93 had a t7 ignition system in it that auto detected octane and auto adjusted timing

Below 91 octane = fail. Did not know this prior to posting my response to your cel. Drew is right...low octane can cause knock, misfires, bad mileage, and not to mention dirty as **** injectors/fuel system. Thats the probable cause to your misfire, if you cleared it out and it hasnt happened again youre good. Try to recreate the exact same situation and see if happens again, if not, then I would not worry. You have to remember with newer cars, means more detailed analysis of your cars performance, say 15 years ago, you more than likely wouldnt have even thrown a code for misfire.

Thats what I was saying I obviously put in 93 instead of 89. I recreate the exact same situation everyday, I just started the car and looked up and saw the check engine light lol. Alright.. I'm not even going to worry about it unless it happens again. Maybe I'll try a different gas station too.

I always give it time to warm up before driving off... even when it's 100 degrees outside and even hotter inside the car.

I've been emailing superchips (since I ordered it and all) to find out about the 93 octane update and here's what they said....
Hello Austin, unfortunately, because many parts of the country do not
offer 93 octane, I have been told that they do not currently and will
not in the near future be producing such a program. Thanks again and regards, Barry.

Hopefully he' wrong but he does work there so I don't know.

Ron at flashpaq.com forums said there is no plans for 93 octane either. Bummer.
I do want to see the baseline and tuned figures for the HHR SS manual

That sucks!!! I wonder if they are going to do any more updates for the Cobalt. I don't think they realize how many people would go with a SCT if there was more than one tune available. Maybe they don't understand that while GM is dick'n off with their Stage tune that they could capitalize on some disgruntled folks wanting more power! OFFER MORE OPTIONS!!!!

I need to swing by Superchips and talk to them. I may get a custom tune while I am over there, and encourage them to share it.

^^^has them in stock and Domestic you just missed the sale they had, $25 off, not a whole lot, but every penny helps. If you order from them make sure you call and order and you can try getting a little bit off. If you're military they'll give you 5%.

So what did the rant say?

What about tunes made for CAI's and exhaust mods?

I really don't understand them saying it wouldn't make a difference when there is a 93 octane tune available for G8 GXP that adds 15/15?

Scary post by staff over on Superchips Forum. I'm not a member yet over there so I couldn't respond but when asked why the HHR tune produced more power than the Cobalt, he gave this response I hope the whole staff knows what engine they are working on

This is a quote from Ron at Superchips posted yesterday why the HHR tune has better numbers than the Cobalt tune

HHR stock=220hp and 230 ftlbs of torque at the wheels

Cobalt stock=205hp and 199.4ftlbs of torque

Sorry but that just isn't the right way to go! Get a custom tune, or no tune at all!
