Thanks for the clip. Sounds a little louder that I was expecting. Maybe its just the sensitive mic. Thanks again!

Yeah I might experiment with muffling the mic a bit but in person it is actually louder than I was expecting.

Sorry no video but I've got the CIA w/cat and stock exhaust. Also a cutout I hope to try eventually. It's similar to Zanders but is a touch quieter(can't remember which type of cat they use); exhaust has about 14k on it.
Pretty subdued until you tip into it; tone deepens; nice growl upwards of 4500 rpm or so. I like it.

Yep I like it that it's fairly quiet until I get into it. I think CIA uses a spun metal cat too.

No problem! I'm thinking of making more and maybe getting my buddy to do the camera work so I don't have to just set it somewhere.

Ok so I'm reading info all over the place..

I plan on buying a ZZP catless DP ... will it or will it not throw a CEL ?!?

This shouldn't be an opinion thing .. it should be facts only ..

The only factual answer is...Possibly...ANY catless downpipe COULD throw a code...it's really his or miss with those angled O2 bungs. There have been cases of codes thrown with ALL the brands out there. My ZZP catless with the extended O2 bung threw a code...about 10,000 miles after I put it on...just cruising on the highway home from work one day. Some people have gone 25k+ miles with the Hahn and not thrown a code...some have just gotten down the road before a code came...unfortunately the sensors are really sensitive so if it senses too little activity it could throw a code...too much heat...throw a code...no activity on startup...could throw a code...so like I said it's really hit or miss. If you're not planning on getting a custom tune (NOT including GMS1) and you're worried...just get a high flow cat....flows just as well as a catless, and if your not tuning for it specifically...won't make less power than a catless either.

Exactly! there is no guarantee that you won't throw a code even with an angled O2 bung. Keep in mind that if you do it is possible to clear the code with a code reader/clearer.

Some of the general info applies to all downpipes however I don't know if there is an SS/SC specific DP thread.

I was quite impressed with Modern Performance's DP by the looks of it in their pictures...it really looks like some quality work went into it.

Just incase if someone looking for the most expensive, Hahn's mod pipe/DP.. That's what I got.. Just thought I'd balance out the cheapest DP posts.

I have never done exhaust to a car I own so bear with me. Ive heard there are spun metal cats and ceramic; as high flow options. Is there a better of those two?

Ok just a quick question im a little confused on ZZP's website it gives you the options of 3'' magnaflow cat(+90), Offroad W/ o2 bung (+40), Offroad no o2 bung or cat, or Spun metal cat (+130).

I want a Catless DP and i do want the o2 bung for the stock sensor so it would lower the risk of the CEL. If i choose the Offroad W/ o2 bung (+40) is that adding another o2 bung for if i wanted to add something later on, or is that adding the bung for the stock rear sensor?
Thanks, Dustin

The $40 O2 bung option is for an extra bung to be welded in if you are looking to add something like a wideband. I have the catless with the extra O2, but at the time I ordered the DP I didn't have the extra cash for the wideband (i do have the wideband now though), so I spent an extra $5 and purchased an O2 bung cap from them as well. This way you already have the extra bung welded in, but can keep it capped off until you add the wideband.

If you don't plan on adding a wideband then the extra bung is pretty much useless..
