Came up with nothing in the boost leak test. Pretty sure its the turbo now, seeing how there has been subtle puffs of white smoke coming out. Not a stream but when i rev it a little. Was driving to work, going pretty slow, and saw some smoke coming out. So yea....lol. Theres smoke. So if the seals are done.....end of the road on that one right?

As long as you're sure the white puffs are not condensation it could be your turbo. Is it cold out when this happens? It def sounds like your intake tube is loose or you have a boost leak. Should hear more of a grinding sound if its your turbo. That just sounds like the normal sound of a open compressor side of the turbo being reflected around under your hood. Just saying, lol...

I wouldnt doubt you man. But I know my turbo is shot. I was in the process of putting it back to stock and while taking off the TR8 intercooler found a surprise. When I pulled the ic elbow for the hot side pipe, OIL POURED OUT. And not just a little bit either. Im talking about alot of oil. Im talking BP Oil Spill stuff. So basically a crap load of oil has moved through my turbo and somewhat clogged when it got to my intercooler. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?....when the turbo seal breaks? Or is it a bigger problem lol....

I'd be interested to hear the results of your boost leak test... I'd also wonder if it had been raining recently and if you were driving in it... I had heard that a wet MAF sensor is sometimes the cause of boosting issues... I am in the same boat actually.. I just started loosing boost yesterday... been AOA 5lbs before getting the suttering and nose overs.... so I'm wondering if I have the same issue now as well.. but having drove in 3.5hrs of straight rain, I kinda wonder if some water infultrated the MAF.. the inspection of the Air Filter noted no wetness what so ever... so I'll be making my boost leak detector here shortly...

Oh yeah, oil spill definitely means blown oil seals in the turbo. You can pick up a Borg K04 pretty cheap on here if you keep an eye out. I have a Mitsu K04 with 3K miles on it I can sell you. If you want it, just drop me a PM.

ohh by the way, I just went out again after about 8hrs of letting the car sit outside, the last 5hrs in mid to upper 50 degree temps, turned it over, and let her warm up... took it out and ran it to up 5lbs, 10 15 and 20 with only a couple nose overs that smoothed out the more I drove it... so it leads me back to a possible wet MAF from the long drive in the rain... just thought I'd toss that out there.. incase your issue developed around the time of poor weather and or rainy conditions.

I blew the lower portion of the hotside off without a code for a couple miles. Fixed it before it ever set a code.

if the dealership doesn't replace it you can either get the stock one rebuilt yourself or try to find a used one online

Got my car back. Blew the seal on the turbo so got a brand new one under warranty. Couldnt be happier! It did take them a while to figure out if they would cover it, which was nerve wrecking but its all good now.
