E37 and E67 ecm's use a virtual sensor for their flex fuel calcs, not a dedicated alcohol sensor like newer gm flex fuel cars are using.

The virtual sensor concept is fine for a 260hp daily driver but not something I would rely on to respond quickly and accurately in a 600hp 2 liter.

Understood. But can you explain how this will work? Will it be compatible with hptuners? I mean...well i dont really know how to verbalise my thoughts right now lol. I guess please elaborate on how this will work snd how it will effect those with current tunes either trifecta or hptuners. Thanks.

So what will it be? New software separate from hptuners? Or a new ecm? Will we be able to manipulate the settings ourselves or is it preprogrammed? I guess this is more what i was trying to ask. But for sime reason i couldnt put it to words. Tired i guess.

I would assume they take a standard cobalt ECM and add lines of code to it. Should be readable like anything else. Our ECM have extra room on them so adding lines of code is no issues, just have to have someone that knows what they are doing.

Ahhh...didnt know that. So the issue isnt that the cam phaser adjustability hasnt been cracked rather that cam phaser adjustability isnt even a possibility.

If those tables exist in the ECM currently then there is always potential for unlocking them.

But if we are talking adding a functionality, it's all up to whether a programmer can write the code for whatever they decide to add. A lot of work and time will have to go into this. Then add in testing.

Launch control
Map switching via a ground or positive to a pin on the ECU
ethanol sensor
Indirect injection injector wiring for 4 more injectors - would help with fueling and keeping things clean. Adding a 5th injector, that I assume would be indirect injection, it shouldn't take much more to fire another 3 injectors.

If I had to guess your looking at a few months at the very least before you'll see anything come out of this project, it's not easy.

i know this is going to take a while but i'd like to say thanks for the time and effort put into something like this. cant wait for the final product. yea a flex fuel option would be awesome but im mostly excited for reving out my set up to 8k. the minute this comes out (Matt M) you will be getting an email from me about going back there and getting this tune done lol. the tuning you set up was awesome and reliable as hell but with these new c7 vettes coming out im gonna need a little more juice lol
