It looks good from what I can see. I would like to see some before and after data logs. I have always heard a thinner(within reason) intercooler is better and I see the theory. I like the set up of the tubing into the tanks over the other vendors. It just looks smoother/less restrictive and cleaner.

Look at the first picture. They welded a small bracket to the intercooler that bolts to the bumper. It is super simple. Just run a bolt through those holes you see in the metal bumper and you tighten it down.

Simple yet great design.

To Terminator: I know the coolant temps arent directly affected by the intercooler but it does block some of the engine radiator. I was unsure if that blocked surface area would raise coolant temps, but I don't think it does much if any.

So i just got mine in and the hot side outled is smashed. I called Linda at the shop and she wanted pictures so i hope this gets fixed. One thing i didnt like is that she assumed that i broke it. I asked myseld why i would break it if i waited over 2 weeks to get this in and i was going to install it myself??? Buti really hope they take care of it.

Weird, Maybe from shipping or something . If it was in shipping then they might be able to get shipping refunded from transport company.

I can't tell, but is some of the IC stick up above the top grill? I think there is plenty of air getting to it from top to bottom. If people are worried you can make a deflector to screw to the bottom of the IC that will push some air up virtually.

The intercooler doesn't stick up into the upper grill. It stops right at the bottom of it.

The intercooler takes up all of the bottom grill, but doesn't stick out below the bumper.

The engine coolant radiator gets plenty of flow from the upper grill and the lower air deflector

That doesn't bother me because plenty of air makes it through the front of the IC to cool the radiator and such. I was hopping that the IC stuck up higher into the upper grill, but I still think there will be plenty of cooling. There won't be any hot air just sitting behind the bumper like some think.

If you wanted you could make a plastic air dam that forced air from the upper grill down towards the IC.

I get it now. That would be a pretty cool project and piece for someone to make. Hell with the open bolt holes on top of this intercooler it would be easily made.

Of-course we do not make our own cores...I dont believe any IC maker does. we buy our cores and weld up the IC's here.

I work for the shop and wanted an IC and did not want to spend 700$ Im a cheap ass so I made my own and it work. We are the Largest Saab tuner shop in the US and that is what we do, we are known all around the world, ask any Saab person about us.

Every one has there own opinion of what is best that why we are lucky to be here in the great USA so buy what you like. We have not got a chance to install one on a Balt yet to check fit for a 100% but everything looks the same did not have too remove anything for fitment

PICs on the HHR

So the top half of the intercooler is usleless behind the bumper reinforcement so why dont you make a shorter one?

it looks pretty dam good id have to say maybe buy this!

Its still more surface area, regardless of whether or not it is in the direct path of airflow more surface area is beneficial.

I will post this again and get ignored again. The intercooler is an ebay one with 90s welded on it no way this intercooler is made in house and looks exactly like the one my friend has that he paid 100 dollars for.

that being said. I think the price is fair if the welds are done correctly and there is a way to secure the intercooler to the car so that it is not just hanging off the pipes or resting on the bumper

I am considering buying this I do want to know about warranty though.

I don't think he or any body ignored you, I believe he cleared up that the cores are not made in house and they are also not bought off ebay. He may buy them from the same place that the ebay guy buys them but that is uncertain.

I have no info on warranty. Sorry I didn't even bring it up. The intercooler is bolted directly to the bumper frame and it doesn't wiggle one bit. The pipes welded on are very well done and I see no reason they should break.

I have 500 miles on them so we will know farther down the road.

Ahh don't worry about it, there is way to much crap to read through. As far as quality I think I saw somewhere that he said they have been using these cores for along time now and have not had any issue's even on 400hp+ cars. I tried to thumb through to see if I could find what I just stated but couldn't locate the statement.
