Could be i mean im going over a mountain with signs that say 8% steep so yeah lots of load on the car, I could drive without getting boost but the car starts losing speed.

Never noticed it until almost the end before i replaced my stock turbo(didn't take that path that often) and it was doing that and when i installed the R it wasnt any different so i figured it was normal could be wrong

Well ya that's how the higher pressure canisters work. I have tuned a 4psi, 14psi, 20psi, 23psi and 32psi actuators. and you have to change the WGDC when changing the spring pressure. It's the whole point of changing the canister

I understand all that... My question was whether I went too aggressive on the preload, which may be the case. We'll see

LOL I'm not talking about mountains bruh. Just the lovely hilly terrain our highways have. For what you're describing, I would expect to go into some boost with CC on.

Thanks for chiming in anyway man

I maxed it out on my R plus my actuator mod held 28psi to 7k easy. Didn't notice any issues the most common would be boost creep up top because the WG isn't opening enough at WOT to control boost

You could always send me ur tune and I can see if anything pops out at me.

I guess it depends on how fast you want to climb the hill and how steep it is. I purposely try to stay out of boost most of the time so I accelerate to accommodate that. I baby mine more than drive it like I stole it. I've found that if I get on it all the time it starts to feel slow plus it is harder on the drivetrain. If you stay out of the throttle more, when you do get on it, it feels pretty good, and faster than you thought it was.

I typically just set the CC and run with it. I don't typically drive my car(s) too hard but when I do, I drive them like they owe me money.

Welp, it wasn't the preload on the WG. Took out 3 full turns of preload and it made zero difference.

Shaun is on 91 plus 1000cc meth which is a ton but has super low EGTs and ran a 3.014 75 to 100 and to compare Colin ran a 3.196.

I think running meth in the intake stream helps cool the intake charge better and spraying that much keeps the R so cool it can do very well. If anybody was to run meth and E on an R I'd expect to see some great numbers!

Shaun's car is working great since you tuned him for meth. Will be on the rollers oct 14-16 at a local mustang dyno day!

I'm glad I stumbled upon this FTW-K04R info... just did a front mount and noticed my turbo had a 'lil play in it. The car has 130K on it so it's been in the back of my mind that the turbo will soon need a rebuild/upgrade.

I'm waiting to see what he says about time frame, how much for a 14b/16g upgrade as well on a different turbo... if I can get the k04 done before it gets too cold out I might do that just so it doesn't crap out on me in February. With my luck, wouldn't surprise me at all if it did.
