I was using the old app for awhile and it always crashed on my phone, and you all said you could see my name but no post. Since getting the other app it works fine, and sadly you get to see what I post. It's the old app I'm sure.

Impossible to get a hold of. I started doing our local tunes since he was not responsive.

He wants to have control over the car and visually and possible mechanically inspect it first. Also there were some people going around a few years ago that were "tuners" that would just copy paste others tunes. Not sure if Area was effected by it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was.

Late edit because I was posting without reviewing: I suspect the above is true, don't know him personally.

makes sense;
As a Trifect dealer, I ended up making a disclaimer sheet of sorts which covered me incase something went wrong from a pre-existing issue the car had that I didn't notice.
Shortly after making the sheet, I had a client who nearly fried their ECM because they had an electrical issue which caused an interruption in flashing the tune to their car.

The first guy that tuned me actually asked me to sign a disclaimer

I have the verbal, there is a chance **** can get fucked up and your warranty (some guys have aftermarket ones) will likely be void once I load this.

the trouble is that there is that percentage of the time where a verbal agreement is worthless;
If you are stand up, and you are dealing with a stand up person, you're good... but not everyone is a stand up guy/gal...

and this seems to be a more prevalent thing.

Yeah, but verbal agreements do hold up. I also usually have some form of request for the services documented also. So I have a request for the service and verbal confirmation of the potential risks, it's a side thing for me so I don't have a shop someone can go after.

Never had issues when I was remote tuned by John, he even identified my cam sensors may need changed. He is hard to get a hold of sometimes, especially since he has a girlfriend now, but he always replies back, and is always asking about how the car is running. I couldn't be happier with the way the car runs honestly.

most of the time people doing remote tunes, or being tuned have a control issue with the vehicle and the person driving it. There is two people in this country i will remote tune on an lnf. those two people will listen to explicit instructions and know what to look for in terms of warning signs. the average "new" owner does not. I can typically feel issues before they even remotely show up on a code scan, or data log. i personally have a set in stone process on how to do them anyways. LNF's get street driven first before any wot pulls are made on a dyno. Dyno is just there for numbers in the end.

People also like to attach cables to others cars and pull the files and call them their own. too much time and work has gone into the files to keep having this happen, which is also why i have severely narrowed my willingness to tune a cobalt or delta chassis to a handful of people.

When Term was still active we offered a tuning service (unlocking, flashing and street logging) through our local Cobalt chapter with the proceeds going into the club. We always used a legal disclaimer and a release form they had to sign. It not only addressed the inherent risk of mechanical damage or catastrophic engine failure, but also that of collision damage and bodily injury. After all, during street tuning you drive at speeds well into the 3 digits which brings inherent risks with it. After all, this IS America and you can't be too careful.
ECaulk, you should really use this release form for people you tune. It's in the club dropbox, I can send you the link again if you want.
